Gender Roles?
The man of the house. Now women are now becoming the man of the house. Gender in society are beginning to become a myth in the United states of america. Woman were sole caretakers of children. But due to education and the rights of woman gender roles are being switched. Men are to becoming the caretakers of their children. One of the roles of women were to take care of children and the house. They were supposed to listen to her husband and obey him no matter what. But however gender roles are changing and the change of gender roles can be seen in the play Taming of the shrew by William Shakespeare and the two article an American role revels…by and Most Americans think woman should do most of the house work.

Women are “better educated than men” and in the family “the wife and husband” both do not consider the other smarter(David Cauchon). The line between who is better is getting thinner. It used to be the man is the more suppeurory. Men were given more education and therefore they were considered more smarter. But now both genders are given the same education and women are proving to be more smarter and more devoted than men. They became what men are supposed to be. Men were the one’s that got education and went to school. Now both genders both go to school and get the same education. Women are more likely to succeed and go to college. Woman now have the freedom to do whatever they want to do. They can have the same jobs as men. If women did not fight for a well paying job and a comfortable life then people’s view on women and society would have been a lot different.
