Gender Stereotypes In The Cartoon From The 19th Century
The cartoon from the 19th century exhibited how the right to women vote will create a shift of gender roles. This same message is seen in the cartoon from the 1970’s. Both cartoon insinuate that because of the suffrage, the men would have to perform the domestic roles and would complete them unsuccessfully. This is demonstrated on how the cartoon in the 19th century shows how the father has a hard time controlling the crying babies and in the 1970 cartoon on how the father is almost dropping the frying eggs, holding the baby by his diaper and the baby holding an iron.
