These objects are a makeup and jewellery box. These items are meant to be symbolic for femininity as these are items people would consider to be a woman's. Although it may not be his items, they’re in there to enforce the image of femininity to the father and magazine.
The rhetorical question ‘Who said fathers weren’t capable of this?’ is utilized within this magazine cover to cause the audience to rethink their opinions and thoughts on fathers staying at home, taking care of the children and complete house tasks meanwhile the female works to provide for the family. The rhetorical question will also allow audiences to realise male potential and that there is no reason why males cannot do this.
The magazine cover consists of a line, ‘Don’t be afraid to try this out, you may enjoy yourself.’ The use of the words, ‘afraid’ and ‘enjoy’ show the use of emotive language within this cover. The main purpose of utilizing the emotive language is to tap into another side of a person’s mind. Instead of trying to approach logically, the emotional approach will hopefully assist in giving the magazine ‘Househusbands’ a larger audience who are willing to look into these
