Acceleration Measure Vector (AMV) composed of direction and magnitude of motion and defines jerk to be the temporal derivative of AMV.

In 1992, Dallmeier presented the world’s first video sensor with digital image storage. At this time, the idea of using digital image storage in video surveillance wasn’t taken seriously but Dallmeier saw its benefits and potential. In retrospect, this idea has proved to be a groundbreaking development, one that has revolutionized video surveillance. Today we cannot imagine the security field without the use of digital technology.Panomera® is a completely novel camera technology, which was specially developed for the all-encompassing video surveillance of expansive areas. With Panomera®, huge widths, as well as areas with large distances can be displayed with a completely new resolution quality, in real time and at high frame rates of up to 30 fps. While other video analysis systems are limited to pure motion detection, Dallmeier uses SEDOR® – an abbreviation for “Self Learning Event Detector” – a self-learning analysis system. Using intelligent picture analysis algorithms and self-learning detection systems a variety of different situations can be automatically recognised even in complex scenes. For example, object sizes, directions of movement and speeds can be analysed. Environmental influences like rain, snow or branches blowing in the wind are filtered out using special algorithms.…
Textual communication, or content that is read or viewed, also plays a role in communicating with others. Textual information may gain deeper meaning when the text is spoken or viewed in a specific context versus when it is read.…
Jay Gatsby of The Great Gatsby is not the man people think he is. He is the embodiment of 1920s materialism. His extravagant lifestyle highlights his opulence, from his parties to his wardrobe. Gatsby’s past is a secret, unknown to most people, and has a web of lies surrounding it. His behavior is insanely immoral, from his affairs, to his bootlegging. In The Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby often demonstrates his extravagance, immorality, and secretiveness.…
Aggression is a difficult behaviour to predict but also it is often hard to control. It comes in many physical, verbal and non-verbal forms. Physical aggression can appear from as little as slapping/ hitting a person to firing a gun at someone. Verbal aggression can be someone screaming or using abusive/racist language and non-verbal can include things like using offensive gestures or invading an individual’s personal space. A person may express this kind of behaviour if they are either distressed or if they want to communicate an unmet need. It is classified in 2 groups:…
I notice by observing the member working their verbal and non-verbal communication toward each other in a group. In a group setting one individual seem very annoyed with the other two people conversation about the training that needs to be completed within a week. The other two people were very animated in expressing their feeling verbally and non-verbally from facial expression to hand gestures to express their unhappiness about completing the training in such a short notice. The annoyed employee was standing with his arm folded, with his head slightly shifted, nodding is the head, looking off from time to time not really engaged in the conversation. He was nodding his head and smiling at comments that wouldn’t warrant that action. To the…
M2 To asses the role of effective communication and interpersonal interaction in a health and social care context, I will demonstrate this scenario concerning working with individuals who suffer from dementia within a care home. The first step in tackling such a situation is being able to understand and asses the needs involved for the individual who has dementia. Being well aware of the challenges laid ahead for their care is essential. Another aspect that is vital is that staff are fully qualified and trained to the highest standard to assist in effective communication and cooperation.…
We see Tommy Devito repeatedly beating Billy Bates with a pistol from a low angle shot after Billy insulted Tommy by telling him “To go home and get your F***en shine box” in reference to Tommy’s old job cleaning shoes in “The Suite” a restaurant opened by Henry Hill. The low angle shot is used to make Tommy appear bigger, stronger and thus more menacing. The use of a red single source of light creates an effect where Tommy is covered in darkness along with red light; representing his violent nature. At the same time, we hear the song "Atlantis" by Donovan, which is reminiscent of the hippy culture which was at a high during the 60’s when the scene occurred. The message of the song talks about peace, love and creating a utopia where everyone…
Most people are unaware of the changes in their visual environments until attention is drawn directly to those minor changes. Individuals do not often detect changes because of the lack of attention or insignificance of the change. In order for an individual to notice a change like color, location and identity of an object, attention must somehow be drawn to that object. A general conclusion from this body of work is that attention is necessary for detecting change (Rensink et al., 1997). Being unable to detect a change in an object is called change blindness. Researchers seem to think that change blindness is the cause of many car accidents. Looking away from a road then looking back is a change that is very difficult to perceive which results in quite a few car accidents.…
Some of the commonalities I identified in the video by these 12-year-old kids were: They were being stereotyped based on their skin color, neighborhood they lived in, and their religion affiliation. There were several points in the video that had an impact on me. The first one was at (1:42), when the little boy discussed what it feel like to be biracial-“He have to prove to his friends that he is black.” I found this comment to be sad. I do not think a child should have to spend their time worrying about these things. They should be focused on their schoolwork and playtime with their friends and family.…
Over the last several years, single actor terrorism has introduced a new phrase to the American public, self-radicalization. As an anonymous threat, the whereabouts, motives and activities of self-radicalized extremists are virtually unknown. Although investigative arms of the U.S. Government have uncovered several terrorist plots over the years , those perpetrated by self-radicalized extremists often go undetected until it is too late. The 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the 2015 San Bernardino shootings are just a few examples of attacks perpetrated by self-radicalized extremists in recent history. Their existence poses a challenging security question for government officials; how do you detect an anonymous threat?…
•Identify high risk individuals through trained behavior observation and analysis methods and report directly to law enforcement. •Work directly with federal/state/local law enforcement on a daily basis. •Deploy to augment law enforcement/security in any mode of transportation.…
Nonverbal messages play a huge role in how people interact with each other and how the world can perceive what messages you are trying to get convey. From facial expressions to body language, nonverbal messages are a key factor in really knowing how a person feels about something because nonverbal messages are involuntary unlike language and actions speak louder than words. While I was observing my surroundings at a local Starbucks, nonverbal messages that people were using to talk to another person became a way for me to get some kind of idea of how they were feeling about the situation they were in while interacting with another person.…
I tend to say relational listening style is my primary listening style according to the survey. I generally use relational style when communicate with other. First, when it comes to listen, I am always patient and try to understand their emotion, and mood of the speaker as mine. I am very sensitive type of a person, and I get emotional readily even that’s not my own problem. I never judge other’s opinion rather try to connect with them. I do have an eye contact with speaker all the times, so that makes speaker feel I am completely with them. Meanwhile, listening to them, I think of myself, and put myself in their shoes, and an immediate connection develops that stems beyond mutual understanding, and empathy. The perspective from the other person's side, to try to empathize…
When I turn on the television to watch a movie, I notice that I have a tendency to focus on the words of the characters, sometimes on the music in the background and how it relates to the overall scene, but as I watch what is in front of me I rarely tend to focus my attention to the colors, lines, textures or balance of the surroundings. Everything seems to be part of the big picture of the scene rather than visuals that stand out. Every day we are surrounded by visual elements, which are just as important as actual spoken words; sometimes even more important, as they force us as viewers to make beyond conscious predictions. Whether it is the flow of lines in a painting, the choice of costume texture in a live production or the silent dull remarks of a character in a film, visual language forces the viewers to get into the head of the artist, actor or character and take mental notes.…
Human interactions are important because we are social animals; we depend on each other for our own survival and we live together for the benefit of the whole group. The assignment of this lab, was to observe two people interacting with one another in a public space. Two people were observed during a dinner without being noticed. Person #1 was a male around 18-20 years old. Person #2 was a female around 20-22 years old. Let’s called person #1 John and person #2 Aline. The place of observation was in the Oyate Hall during the Spring Festival dinner. John sat next to Aline. Their interactions were analyzed as adaptations for evolutionary problems that our ancestors faced, and that we are still facing today. L. Meek noted in class that David…
