Millie Whon is a Senior Accountant, Job Code #1003 (Grade 21), and it’s my pleasure to provide this recommendation to promote her to Supervisor I, Job Code #1256 (Grade 21) effective 1/1/2017. Millie Whon has worked in the Finance and Accounting department as a Senior Accountant since July 30, 2007. I’ve worked closely with her on a day-to-day basis as her Supervisor and can say that she is an outstanding employee: loyal, trustworthy, and very competent. She has strong dedication and takes incredible initiative to do work effectively and
efficiently. She is a naturally caring person with a strong helping orientation personality, who consistently demonstrates a solid service orientation towards other staff members. She willingly takes the lead to pitch in whenever there is a need and performs exceptionally well in executing the responsibilities. Over the years, she provided support to other Sr. Accountants and most recently supported me by managing my PeopleSoft workflow while I was on leave. She reviewed and approved the work for all accounting staff, which included an Accounting Staff, Sr. Accountants, and Sr. Accounting Analysts while completing her Sr. Accounting duties. As part of the month-end close, she effectively communicated the successful completion of a deadline driven process to the Getty community.
She has great interpersonal and communication skills and has a strong working relationships with myself and other staff. She is a good problem solver and demonstrates good judgment. She is confident and is a tremendous asset to our office, her expertise, the experience she has gained on the job will be an efficacious combination in her new role.
She can be trusted to complete and supervise projects successfully requiring little to no supervision. She has been able to demonstrate a consistent level of competency in all areas for the past 9+ years. Thus, I’m confident that Millie Whon is a deserving candidate to promote to Supervisor I, Job Code #1256 (Grade 21). With that promotion, Millie’s salary grade is unchanged, however, her valuable skills and excellent performance will be recognized during the merit pool distribution.
