Major Preparation Requirements for Admission
Nursing Premajor - BS
The Nursing major is an impacted program with more qualified applicants than can be accepted into the major. Admission to the
School of Nursing is very competitive. Students with the highest grade point averages and test scores will be ranked for admission.
Students will be admitted according to rank and the number of positions available.
To be considered for admission to the Nursing major, students must meet the following criteria:
a. Complete with a grade of B- or higher the Biology courses listed below; b. Excluding the Biology courses, complete all remaining courses with a grade of C or higher;
c. Students must complete all prerequisite and preparation for major courses listed below with a minimum 3.0 GPA. These courses cannot be taken for credit/no credit (Cr/NC);
d. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Nursing applicants must submit a Nursing supplemental application. Consult the School of Nursing for more information.
