The Rwandan Genocide was an awful event that really started on 1994; it was basically a civil war. Before 1994, there was a buildup of tension in between two ethnic groups (the Hutu 's and the Tutsis), but on April 6th, of 1994, president Habyarimana 's plane was shot down by who could of been either x or it could of also been x. The death of President Habyarimana (who was a Hutu himself), was the 'spark ' of the Genocide (the war between the Hutu’s and the Tutsi’s), which led to the death of 800,000 to 1,000,000 (from both ethnic groups) people through brutal killings and rape. General Romeo Dallaire is currently a Canadian senator, but he is also known for having worked as a General for the UNAMIR from 1993 to 1994. Dallaire’s role in Rwanda was to lead the UNAMIR, into Rwanda to try and prevent the genocide from happening or developing any further than it already had (stop it.)

The reason that General Romeo Dallaire had for not helping the two soldiers which he saw being held hostage at Kigali was because he
