needs to be done to fix this. Many adults look down their noses at teens, as if they are nothing…
Teenagers, in general, need help in the way they view the world and what is given to them. In the society that teenagers are currently growing up in seems to teach them to under value everything. Teenagers grow up pushing away everyone like Holden and then complain that no one listens to them or understands them. Adolescents need a change in society, in what is taught to them, what they are exposed to, and the way they value. It seems as if teenagers have lost all respect for everything…
Tons of high school kids, not all, but lots contribute to underage drinking, illegal drug use, noise pollution, theft, etc.. With younger kids they may not see these as breaking laws and simply being a teenager having fun, but while maybe rare and not affecting all who contribute to these things, they can cause serious problems and could be very damaging and even fatal in some cases, which is why they are laws that have been put in place for solid reasons. With the younger society it’s hard to realize these things, as it is somewhat rare of them getting caught or having serious or fatal injuries as result of breaking these laws. They also usually tend to think they’re young and invincible and it’s okay to drink and smoke or steal or whatever they may do, but lots of times these could turn into serious habits/addictions that could lead on to adulthood, and could also seriously affect their health as they grow…

So what is on the minds of America's youth today? Contrary to what Vanity Fair said, America's youth are not content text messaging their friends, playing with their X-boxes, and listening to iPods. Kids today have an incredible amount of pressure placed on them. Friends, family, adults, and the media: all these sources are telling us how we must maintain a high GPA if we have any hope of getting into college, and also that we must engage in as many extracurricular activities as possible, all while being thin and perfectly groomed. I have everything from college and extracurricular activities to what outfit I'm going to wear…
Sadly in today’s world there is an increased numbers of disturbed children. My generation is being influenced by many media sources that where not around in the past. Regulations on these mediums of communication are lacking. Many gangs, radical group and other misguided people are using these to recruit members and spread their ideas. The news is full of teenagers getting shot because they are affiliated to these organizations, without this influence these wouldn’t occur. We are growing more dangerous to not only others, but also ourselves. Willingly, we put ourselves into these situations that in the end could cost us our life.…
All throughout the world there are many different genres of music being played and listened to at all time of day. Music has a way of distracting people, making them forget about the world and just focus on what makes them happy. Each person has their own taste in music, the music that makes them happy. Therefore, the songs of the world have defiantly shaped our culture. Would our culture be the same without it? Most people would say “no” because music is a huge part of our culture and without it the idea of fun would be totally different. Many people listen to the same music resulting in bringing a community together to raise a better culture. Music has always been a part of mankind because every beat contributes to the tune of the song, doesn’t matter if it came from a stick tapping on the dirt or the notes coming from an instrument. The Beatles, an iconic band in the music world, made it easier for other artists like Michael Jackson and Beyoncé with their experimenting in the mid 1960s. Throughout centuries music has changed drastically to the present day, evolving slowly from the beginning. Whether we look at the past, present or future generation one thing is definite; each generation has something valuable to offer to the music industry.…

Entertainment, especially things like social media, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, definitely have the capacity to somewhat ruin society. People, especially teens, spend far too much time on the computer and other electronic devices. We spend upon hours scrolling through social media networks, downloading music, emailing, playing games, and many other things, we don’t realize what is even around us anymore. Our eyes are so drawn into our phones, or computers, we barely even socialize with each other anymore.…
‘Generation Kill’ is a memoir on the story of the First Reconnaissance Battalion; a group of highly trained marines that spearheaded the war in Iraq in 2003. Written in the perspective of Rolling Stones writer Evan Wright, it’s a first hand account of the emotions, the battles and everything that happened with the Battalion from their base in Kuwait to the streets of Baghdad. Generation Kill however is not specifically an account of war, but rather an in depth analysis of the new generation of US fighters and how they deal with the realities of a modern war in the backdrop of their culture.…
Communication is a big aspect of good nursing care. Good communication within team members is a big aspect of competent nursing care. Moore et al. describes a team building activity called “ask me.” This is an activity where the workers are put into groups, the group then asks questions about each other. The groups should have people from each different generation. Another team building activity that a nursing manager could do is comparing and contrast. This is when the workers are put into groups, with the group being mixed of generations. The group then brain storms the things they have in common. After that the group will brain storm what is unique about each person. This will help workers connect with and understand their coworkers. The…
In the United States there are tons of problems affecting our youth, one very prevalent issue affecting the American youth for a long time has been the very high rates of school dropouts. According to DoSomething.org, a non-profit helping raise awareness on various issues affecting young people, there is one student who decides to give up on school every 29 seconds. This calculates to approximately 1,000,000 American dropouts a year, 7,000 a day (DoSomething). The US as a whole is losing credibility as being the greatest country in the world, because we continuously fall behind other countries, currently the US ranks 21 out of 26 of developed countries for high school graduation percentage (Cardoza…
