Since genetic modification in food has become a way to produce new products, it has had some negative effects on society.
One of the main negative effects on genetically modified food are the health issues they cause. Since new nutrients such as proteins insert into the DNA of these foods, different allergic reactions can develop in people who consume them. Sometimes the new qualities of modified foods can cause a person to become allergic to new products or foods to which they were not allergic. Likewise, antibiotics are added to these foods new, organisms can mutate and create a biological resistance to diseases. Since these antibiotics can last for a long period in the human body, there is a possibility that the antibiotics used to treat diseases will be less effective. Some consumers do not have enough information about what they are really eating. This affects the right we have to make an informed decision. Since people do not have access to adequate evidence, most of them are eating food that may harm their health. If buyers know about this new production method, they will decide what is best for their nutritional well-being and health. However, there is not such information available to the public. Owners of these food companies do not know the level of acceptance of their products because people do not really know what they are eating.
