Geography: Burkina Faso
Geography: Burkina Faso is located in western Africa and north of Ghana. Burkina Faso has 274,200 Km² total area that includes 273,800 Km² land and 400 Km² water.
Comparatively, Burkina Faso is a little bigger than Colorado. This country is land locked and doesn’t have any water border. Burkina Faso is surrounded by Mali, Niger, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Cote D’ Ivoire. Burkina Faso has a topical climate, warm, dry winter, hot and rainy summer. This region is mostly flat land, most of the hills are located in the west and south of country with a total elevation of 297m, the lowest point is Black Volta River with 200m height and the highest, is Tena Kourou with 749m height. Mineral resources are: Manganese, limestone, Marble, Phosphates, Pumice and small amount of Gold.

Ethnic group: Burkina Faso is divided into Mossi, Fulani, Gurma, Bobo, Gurunsi, Senufo, Bissa, and other tribes, have less than 2,5%. The majority of population is Mossi at 52.4%.
Language: French is the official language and the secondary one is native African that 90% of population speaks. This language belongs to the Sudanic family language. Religion: the most popular religion is Islam at 61.7% and the next religion is Catholic at 23.2% also 7.3% of people practice Animist and 6.7% are Protestant.
Demographic: Burkina Faso has a very young population 65% of the population is under 25 years old due to poor health and hygiene and vaccination. Most of population die at a very early age and growth rate is almost 3%, but on average each family has 6 children at home. Burkina Faso has problems with food shortage. This country’s main source of labor for agriculture and factory jobs in adjacent countries, like: Cote D’ Ivoire, Ghana, Mali and Senegal and Switzerland.
