The five themes of geography are five big categories that all things geography can be grouped into. They are movement, regions, human environment interaction, location, and place. The five themes are important to understand for the study of geography.
Movement, in geography, is as it sounds. It’s about people moving and how they do it. People can travel to Houston by plane, car, train, bus or cruise ship. Most imports and exports that come to Houston arrive at the Port of Houston. The Port of Houston handles 66% of all cargo in the Gulf of Mexico. Thousands of Shipments of American products and containers with food, furniture and products leave the Port every day.
