George Bush 9/11 Speech Analysis

During his speech addressing the country following the September 11th attacks, George W. Bush appealed to the countries emotions following the attack; by making the country feel united while also igniting our anger. He refers to the people as “evil,” eliciting anger by indicating that the victims of the attack were innocent people, “the victims were in airplanes or in their offices —secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers. Moms and dads. Friends and neighbors.” (Bush, 9/11 speech). In referring to the victims as regular people, especially friends and neighbors he makes the attack seem all the more targeted and evil. George W. Bush’s speech made the people of America feel united. He calls our country “strong” later referring
