George R.R Martin George R.R Martin was born on September 20, 1948 in Bayonne New Jersey. George R.R. Martin is a successful writer of fantasy, science fiction, and horror. He started writing at young age, sharing “monster stories” and selling them for pennies to other neighborhood children, dramatic readings included. George attended Mary Jane Donohoe School and later to Marist High School. He later started submitting stories to the fan-circulated comic magazines. In 1970 he graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois with his B.S in Journalism, he went on to complete his M.S in Journalism in 1971.
