He was a phenomenal strategist, his cleverness making up for the Continental Army’s lack of experience and weapons. One example was when he crossed the Delaware River to attack the British soldiers while they were distracted celebrating Christmas, at the Battle of Trenton.
George Washington displayed the characteristics of a military leader, such as courage, tactical thinking and people skills. These traits helped him with battles like the Battle of Princeton and made him the exceptional commander we now learn about, and were surely useful while being president of the United States
of America.
