I doubt it would be anything pleasurable to the ear. He would start by elucidating that patriotism is the affection that one have for their country. And that love should extend to those living in that country and the property of it. He would remark on all the killings, hateful words and other wrongful actions taking place every day. But most significantly, I think George Washington would comment on how our actions of today can and will affect the generation of tomorrow. Reminding us that foolish acts leads to regrets, and concluding that our role of patriotism is a Humiliation to the country we live in.
To appreciate the country we live in and comprehend what it means to be an American, you first have to cognize its past. We all know Christopher Columbus, who was credited with the discovery of America. Fast-forward after that to when we established a government after fighting and obtaining liberation for Great Britain. What attributes must a citizen possess to obtain such title? To begin with a true American set asides one's selfish ways in regard of other's well being. Examples would be Volunteer work and Charities, which can builds character and selfishness. Another quality is Honesty and Integrity. How could one expect to prosper when filling another's head with lies? “Honesty will be found on every experiment, to be the best and only true policy; let us then as a Nation be just.”(George Washington) The last and probably most important quality of being an American...Pride and Patriotism.
