The presents of Her Grace, Georgiana Cavendish the duchess of Devonshire, was a hot topic, a celebrity, amongst her peers of the eighteenth century in England. Most recognizes her as a fashion innovator, a devoted mother, a lover, a drunken gambler, a lavish hostess of the grandest parties and most of all a main supporter of the Whig Party.
