Geraldine Anderson's Ethical Dilemmas
ieal state agent because of your refusal. She’s in the process of buying . ’ Second home in the city. And I think Doug would be very disappointed If ' he knew that because of you, he lost the commission.” Pat finished with a cold tone in her voice. There was silence for a moment as she waited for an answer. She was the messenger who always took care of things for Geraldine Anderson. She was certainly not the nicest person in the world and since nicest never gets anything done, Geraldine had hired her for these exact reasons. She was not cordial nor cared what anyone thought of her. There was a long pause at both ends as Anna had no choice but to accept. "Okay, i will do it, but tell Mrs. Anderson that I’m only doing it as ’ a favorto Doug.” She expressed grudgingly, and after hanging up the phone she leaned on her desk with her hands around her face. Her conversation with Pat had been very unsettling. She hated to have to take orders from Geraldine Anderson, whoever she was. She didn’t seem like a nice person at all, her assistant had persuaded her to say yes when she had wanted to do otherwise. She hoped to do a good job and not have to deal with her ever again. …show more content…
Lots of new customers came to check-out the studio. Most of them had heard from friends or family how fun and professional the place was. Anna felt proud to have created a place where people felt welcome and where she was able to create great memories for families all around the city. She asked Barbara to stay and close the studio, while she went to dinner with Doug. Barbara gladly accepted since most nights Anna was the one staying until late preparing for the next

Henrietta had come from a black community, so she and her family were looked down on in the health care community. Henrietta had originally gone to the doctor because she had a lump in her cervix and she decided that it was time for her to get it checked out, the doctors had found out that it was cancerous and she had to go through multiple treatments. According to Skloot (2011), one of the doctors was Richard Telinde and he had taken a sample of her tumor from her cervix and put it in a petri dish, without her knowing and took it to the lab to grow human cells for experimentation.…

Getting ready to sit through this movie, I had no prior knowledge of what the film was going to try and portray to us, but I was intrigued to see Arthur Eden’s rant kick the movie off right away. Having read this assignment prior to watching the movie and knowing I was going to have to choose one specific character from the movie, Arthur had obtained my interest right away in doing so. As Arthur is losing his mind in the beginning of the movie and strips down during the middle of his deposition, he starts to realize his life is in complete shambles, he knows he can’t go on being the prestigious senior litigation partner of the New York City law firm any longer than he currently has been. He also can’t grasp the concept of being apart of the firm if they were to ever get caught for their illegal doings. Arthur is then arrested and bailed out by fellow attorney Michael. As Michael is informed of Arthur’s actions by the head of his legal firm Marty Bach, that Clayton tells Bach that he understands and saw this coming since he has basically “lived” out this case for the past decade, doing his daily job. As Michael arrives and sits down to talk to Arthur, it is clear that Arthur is starting to lose his mind by his anxious and excited personality, not taking his prescription, and isn’t happy with the shoes he has been in through these years. He tells Michael, “six years I’ve absorbed this poison,” continuing to express how wrong all of his doings for those past years have been dwelling in his head, and clearly to the point where he’s not able to handle acting sane anymore. The movie shows a great amount of underlying storytelling right away in pulling in us viewers who are watching.…

In 1974, Nancy Scheper-Hughes traveled to a village in rural Ireland which she later nicknamed “Ballybran” (Scheper-Hughes 2000-128)). Her findings there led her to publish Saints, Scholars and Schizophrenics: Mental Illness in Rural Ireland in 1979, in which she attempted to explain the social causes of Ireland’s surprisingly high rates of schizophrenia (Scheper-Hughes 2000:128). Saints was met with a backlash of criticism from both the anthropological community and the villagers who had served as her informants. The criticism eventually led to Scheper-Hughes being expelled indefinitely from the village in which she had worked (Scheper-Hughes 2000:118) and raised serious questions about the ethics of anthropological inquiry. In this essay I will argue that Nancy Scheper-Hughes’ fieldwork in Ireland was fundamentally unethical on the grounds that she morally wronged her participants through her fictionalized representation of them, and that she did not seek their informed consent. That being said, she was also committed to structural analysis, which is distinctly lacking in twenty-first century anthropological inquiry.…

PASSION: Why am I here? As a child I was always attracted to the smaller, weakened animal I found in my yard, i.e. dying birds, kittens, bugs, etc. The animals we owned were never neutered which resulted in a numerous amount of puppies and kittens. I was intrigued by the cycle of life. Originally I wanted to become a veterinarian. The financial strain on my family made it apparent that it would not be possible. As fate would have it, there was a two year waiting list for nursing school, but I was readily accepted into a two year respiratory program. At the end of the respiratory program, I stayed for one more year to specialize in NICU.…

In the “Ethics of Talk: Classroom Conversation and Democratic Politics,” by Ruth Grant, a certain quote seemed to draw my attention. “Can talking make people better? “ In my opinion, I feel that yes, and no. The reason why I say yes is because if the right person is talking, he or she can get their point across in a conversation. Also, being able to communicate effectively to one another is vital in understanding other people. Talking gives us the opportunity to get our point across or to be able to speak in an average conversation. Talking also gives us the chance to learn and teach. To be able to talk well is a very powerful thing. For instance, being able to talk well, and have people listen is an important aspect of being a leader.…
