In during my research, I found that there is a wealth of food safety guidelines that are out there geared for kids. They seem to run from when going shopping, in the kitchen, cleaning up, storing leftovers, using the microwave, and storage do's and don'ts...the list really could go on and on. The most interesting thing I did noticee that many of the gguiidelines were for kids 12 and older. I only saw a few that I wouuld really use with the younger. I understand thatt the guidelines are iin placed to not just for storing, serving, or preparing foods but it is also about what we should do to avoid spreading bacteria. Spreading bacteria is probably one of the biggest things that kids do on a daily basis and these guidelines if followed correctly can help eleminate some of that spreading of bacteria on a daily basis. If I had kids and was teaching them about food safety and how not to sprread bacteria, I would review my top ten guidelines.…

For years I have been lucky, hardly got sick at all with the flu or cold, at worst very mild ones. The last few years, but especially this fall and now into January, I've been sick several times and now I have my persistent cough back, annoying. It may have to do with the mild winters we have lately at least some people suggest a link with that. It looks like next week at least we'll go below freezing but it has been very mild here.…

Even though as a class we were only advertising the flu vaccine on campus, it still helped get the word out about the new vaccine to try to keep the community healthy. Due to all college students sharing several things such as lecture halls, computers and dorms it enables us to spread the viruses more quickly. It is important to get ahead of the seasonal flu and get your flu vaccine as soon as possible. In their study, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2016) found that, “‘Flue season’ in the United States can begin as early as October and lasts as late as May” (“Why should people get vaccinated,” para. 1). Equally important, most students on campus did not even realize how long flu season is, and how it can impact your grades by…
