The first club I researched was The Young Democrat or Republican Club. The club contains juniors and seniors that get together to sort out issues we face in today’s society. A group can be held in every county, but I have never heard of a local club. Their purpose is to promote awareness of political issues, candidate views, and just to be an involved and knowledgeable citizen. Each member has roles, duties, and responsibilities that they must fulfill. As members they must inform other students of beliefs the party has and why they have them, make major issues known, instill love of the country, desire to make a difference, and stress the importance of voting. Within each group of young democrats or republicans there is voting for president, vice president, secretary, and campaign manager.
The co-chairperson for the Rockland County Young Republican Club has talked a little about the club they have; here are some of the things she has to say, “In recent times the membership and participation of the Young republican Club has dwindled to the point where the club is virtually defunct.” The politics of the Republican Party were devoid of substance especially in regards to politics that impact the younger generations. “We have a vibrant and active group of skilled and intelligent young people, ranging from high school students to young professionals in the community.” The co-chairperson
