Introduction:
Is Ghana ready for the 21st century? This is the question I asked myself as I researched my paper. Since it won its freedom from The United
Kingdom, and become Ghana in 1957 rather then The Gold Coast, it has changed governments four times due to military coups. Though it is still rich in natural resources it cannot feed its people without importing food and almost half the people cannot read nor write. Ghana is trying to get better but only time will tell the story.

Ghana
is
located
in
the
Northern
Hemisphere, but just barely. Its location is 5°
36’ north latitude - 0° 10’ east longitude and is about the size of Oregon. It borders the North
Atlantic Ocean on the south, The Ivory Cost on the east, Burkina Faso on the north, and Togo on the west. The central and southern portions are very fertile, but due to poor land management and farming
