The two daring mythology stories, The Epic Of Gilgamesh & The Odyssey are similar to
each other because in The Odyssey he defeats the monster, Scylla the six-headed sea monster, and in The Epic of Gilgamesh he defeated the bull of heaven after upsetting Ishtar and she gets angry and sends the bull of heaven to Uruk to damage the crops and destroy the people. Second, another similarity between the two nerve-racking stories is that both of the stories mention the heroes mentors, and how the hero in each story get help from their mentor. Third, another similarity between the two tales is that both of the heroes were tempted in both stories, in The Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh was tempted by getting immortality by the god, but that god told him that he can not be immortal because that god and his wife were the only ones able to be immortal. Finally, in the Odyssey, Odysseus was tempted by the sirens, he wanted to hear what it sounded like, but he could not accomplish that without getting pulled to the sound, so he tied himself to a boat so he can hear the sirens.
Finally, the message for temptation is that never give into it, because you’ll suffer bad consequences. The next time you are tempted, always consider your values and rethink your decision if you agree to go into temptation. In conclusion, the theme was mainly about temptation, and you should never give into it because the outcome might never be good.
