Executive Summary
Global Internship Program in short having the commonly known mnemonic GIP is an exchange program that deals with all activities related to bringing in interns from other countries, which in turn come and work for companies AIESEC Strathmore has partnered with locally. Partnership contracts have to be set up with interested companies and organizations before interns are brought into the country. The corporal process of creating this vital principle for exchange is done by the Global Internship Program portfolio. It is the job of team members belonging to this portfolio; convince companies that it is worthwhile to take in interns consequently partnering with us. Interns are expected to take part in either community work projects or internship programs for the respective companies they accept to work under. However, under GIP, interns strictly participate in internship activities.
Types of internship in GIP are:
1. Management
Internships related to administration, finance, accounting, marketing, project management and HR.
2. Technical
Internships related to management and development in web, software, networks and databases and a small percentage of engineering.
3. Education
Internships related to promotion, curriculum development, teaching and counseling.
Under details for durations for participating in internship programs, there exist various timeframes. The duration ranges between 6 – 18 weeks, with a salary that covers living or accommodation costs. Every intern has to pay an application fee dependent on the specific
