Girsh was just about to finish his article about the new school getting put up this day until he got some news.

“Girsh you need to see and write about this as soon as possible,” one of his friends said that also writes paper. Girsh had no Idea what was going on and just read what what was happening.

Just imagine you are playing outside and you see something explode in the sky. You are thinking that it is just a firework, until plane pieces fall out of the sky. That is what’s happening right now.

To start things off, right in front of your eyes is a war happening in the sky.

All of these people are not even seeing this and are just living a normal life. Though this will be on of the biggest battles and one of the most well known, people who don’t see it will not even care on what is actually happening. This is a really tragic event though.

One of the main details for the Battle of Britain is that the Nazi’s had a certain name for their Invasion. This invasion was really important, and just incase the invasion ever did come, this code phrase was Operation Sea Lion. This phrase was basically saying that the Nazi’s had a plan to invade the United Kingdom during the Battle of Britain.

At about this point in the article, many people are probably at a huge disagreement. Quite a bit of you are probably saying, “the Battle of Britain is not even close to the most important battle ever.” Well this is way not true, when was the last time there was an all military air force battle? Oh yeah, there never was another one. Though it is definitely not the most important, it is really up there at the top of the list. You might also be saying, “well why have I never heard of this Battle of Britain.” Well as bad this sounds, in school you don’t learn about the Battle of

In 1999, author Nathan Englander published a collection of short stories. The Jewish author’s collection is titled: For the Relief of Unbearable Urges, and the last short story of his collection is subtitled: “In This Way We Are Wise.” Most of the collection’s stories focus on fictional events with a Jewish Orthodox setting, but the last short story is more personal to the author, and the main character even shares the author’s name. “In This Way We Are Wise” focuses on the reaction of a Jewish American named Natan to a bombing near the Israeli café he frequents. Natan grew up in the suburbs of America, choosing to immigrate to Israel as an adult. Englander portrays some of the internal conflicts Natan faces in Israel through Natan’s personal actions, reactions, and words to reveal personal issues in religion, adjustment, and social life.…

B is for Battle of Bunker Hill. This was one of the major battles in the American Revolution. Here, the British fought three times, finally winning on the last one. This is important because it demonstrated that inexperienced militia were able to stand up to regular army troops in battle. The battle discouraged the British from anymore frontal attacks.…

The American Revolution was filled with important and spectacular battles; each having their own significance. Despite the fact that the colonists lost The Battle of Breed’s (Bunker) Hill, it was a huge victory for the colonists, and could have been one of the most important battles of the American Revolution. Despite being out numbered and unseasoned fighters, the colonists were able to inflict heavy casualties on the British regular army. Even though they were able to inflict such casualties upon the British Army, they were forced to surrender when they ran out of gunpowder. The significance of this battle was not that the colonists won or lost, but what was learned in the process. It also established a high level of morale among the colonies and demonstrated to the Americans the power of fighting from behind rocks and trees against better trained British formations. It also showed that Americans desperately needed allies to supply ammunition.…

This battle caused a huge change in the environment and government policies. A major significance in this event was the amount of lives that were taken based on a petty battle. Up to at least 10,000 men were believed to have died in this battle, it is yet to be true since there is no leftover evidence of bodies buried. In my own opinion, the question I continue to ask myself is, Why was Harold Godwinson’s army so unprepared knowing William’s constant anger toward the fact he was not in power. Reasons why Harold was unprepared as because Duke William had attacked before they were properly ready. While in battle, some of his best fighters as died in the previous battle, The Battle of Stamford Bridge, and the rest of soldiers were tired from the battle and the journey south. While in battle, the English were holding it together but the Normans tricked the English by pretending of retreat back. The English followed behind, leading their strong position on a hill, but then Harold Godwinson had died. In the event of his death, his army grew weak and ended up losing the battle. In this battle though, William was extremely lucky and only truly won based on the trick he played on the English during the battle. When William conquered the Normans, he completely had begun a new policy. Though, William wasn't fully English he still brought his native tongue to the English court. Some forms of French would remain the…

The development of the ancient city of Gerasa is both interesting and under-researched, but Adam Lichtenberger and Rubina Raja have recently been working to reduce the validity of the latter adjective. However, much of what they found contradicts that which was expected to be discovered—yet it is not contradictory to a logical progression for the development of a city under foreign rule. For instance, Lichtenberger and Raja’s examination of the city’s Northwest Quarter revealed a large body of local influence on the imperial developments that were found—particularly evidenced by the large, sculpted limestone block found as a result of the 2011 surface survey of the Northwest Quarter of Gerasa. The block, which “can be assumed [to originate]…
