Gramling: Two phases related to the child development and learning standards and school readiness: What are my thoughts and experiences about this? Does Gramling overstate our reliance on child development and early learning guidelines? Should we not be looking at the next level of development and scaffolding children to move forward that outcome? OR do child development and early learning guidelines provide meaningful support to the adults that use the,, to help assure appropriate expectations for children’s learning and development?
I agree that Gramling does not overstate our reliance on child’s development and learning standards and school readiness. Being committed to educating every child is an important strategy in the effort to increase a child’s development and learning standards. School readiness matters. According to Gramling, it is clear that child development is very profitable to a child’s learning environment. It’s also clear that in order to build a greater education system we must have a much higher quality early childhood program. I believe it begins with the children. I had to make observations on each child and noted each child developmental domains for assessments by the end of the month. As an educator, we must translate what we know from Science about the needs of our children into effective policies and practices. Taken as a whole, State policy makers have a chance to have a significant effect on the development of young children by acting on the policies made that support healthy social-emotional development.
