Gladiators In The Colosseum
The romans had plays and athletic events in the colosseum. They enjoyed watching the chariot races. The death of a gladiator was meant as a sacrifice to a spirit that was being mourned. A gladiator was an armed combatant who entertained audiences in the roman empire and roman republic. The people came to see animals go against gladiators and others animals. The gladiators fought to death or until they were defeated. The romans started their theatrical plays in 364B.C.. They wrote tragedies and comedies.
The places where the romans entertained themselves were Baths of constantine, Baths of diocletian, Baths of trajahand of Titus, theater of balbus, Theater of marcelles, circus maximus and the Colosseum. The romans would come to the colosseum
to relax, act casual and watch gladiators and the chariot races. They watched gladiators fight either other gladiators or animals. They also saw chariot races. The romans were very creative and knew how to put on a good time.
