Both ended up walking away, chosen a horrific circumstance; puts them in condition they can’t get out of.
In their reality, they were trapped in a horrible situation they could either made the right decision. With the slaves, conclusion puts themselves in a location they couldn’t release their problem. Slaves saw the issue but didn’t want to face it head on. One did escape to the sun, and when she escaped at the same time felt sorry for the slaves. When she escapes, went back to cave (ethical) moment which was (self-choice), felt pitty for the slaves. In my position, I would had escape the cave, when I had reached for the top. I would of then went back down to cave and told them what I had saw. So at least the slaves would know what was out there if they believed me or not. It would be a choice of the slaves to either stay or try to
escape. Maybe the slaves wouldn’t have had cared if she escaped and what she saw. Would that had changed anything if she did tell them what she saw? Would the slaves believe what she saw? I kind of wonder. But the slaves were blind in their own imagination, because they had signs of the light inside the cave. They saw the light but almost refuse to acknowledge it.
In my opinion slaves felt comfortable, even though they were shackle down they were satisfied. For example, don’t you know when you on Facebook, Twitter or any type of media you see a lot of advertisement. Let’s say 90% is entertainment and 10% is about sick people in Africa. You are attracted to the entertainment you scroll and scroll, you know there are Ad’s on sick people in Africa but you just keep scrolling, you see it but you really don’t care of about it. Because the entertainment is drawing your attention. But you see there is problem in the around the world but you ignore the sad ad’s. You too busy just caring what’s going on in America only. That’s what I get out from the slaves in the cave. They see the outside because Plato described how the light bounced in the cave between shadows. The slaves are the example of living in a bubble, they have trust issues.
