The status of women throughout history has been in my opinion awful. They were known as caregivers and only caregivers and weren’t giving the opportunity to prove that they could do just as much as man for a long time. They were known as intellectually inferior to men and also a major source of temptation and evil. Women were not able to own any property, and widows could not remarry. Male children were always preferred over female children. They also had to walk behind their husbands. As time passed they came up with women rights which allowed women to do the same things men can do, at that time they were allowed personal and intellectual freedom and they mad significant achievements.
Today women are able to do just as much as any man. There are …show more content…
still the very few people who feel women belong at the house however, for the most part they are treated completely equal. Women are giving the same opportunity to apply for any job a man is applying even things such as construction. They are also known to work just as much as a man. This day and time both parties are working and not just the man because it takes two incomes to pay the bills in a household. Women are also able to own their own land now and are able to own anything they want to own. A lot has changed over the past few decades and in my opinion it has been for the better. Women are able to make any decisions they want without being second guessed and some widows remarry.
There are still the few people who feel that women do not deserve the equal opportunity of a man however, I personally believe that for the most part they are treated completely equal. There is not much of a problem between men and women and who can do what which is great. There are still those few people who say “women cant be construction workers because they aren’t as strong as men” or “men don’t belong as nurses because that is a woman’s job” which both are not true at all. Women and Men are able to do whatever job they have the most qualifications in no matter what that may be. Some people also say that “women can not owned or manage a business because they aren’t as smart as men” which I completely disagree with considering there are many women out there smarter than most men same with men.
Throughout history gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender people were not accepted at all.
They were not able to marry, or adopt children; people claimed they would not be able to raise a child as well as a two gender family. They had a awful time coming out because no one accepted this as a relationship and would give them an horrible time if seeing them together. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people were harassed, beat up, and completely ignored for their decision. This was not just from strangers but some of this was coming from their own family and/or friends. Coming out wasn’t an option for some people because their families would completely disown them and not allow them back around leaving them without anywhere to
go.
This day and time GLBT are more accepted and are able to do a lot more stuff than they use to be able to do however just as women rights they still have the few people who do not accept them. Some people still feel children shouldn’t be able to be raised by Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender people because they say it confuses the child into not knowing how they are suppose to be. They are able to be married but not in all state however, a lot more of them are accepted by friends and family. Most people just look at it as it is their choice and their life so they should be able to do what they want with it (which is how I feel). Although most people view it as that some feel that “there is no way to be gay because it isn’t a way to feel”.
The views of many people are that lesbians aren’t as bad as being gay. This is crazy; it is the same exact thing so how can one be worse than the other? A lot more women with women get viewed as “sexy” and men with men are viewed as “nasty”, does this make any sense at all? I say not, it is the same exact thing but some do not see it this way. Some people also feel that they shouldn’t have the right to get married because the vows were written for men and women not men and men or women and women, which also is kind of crazy to me because it shouldn’t be up to anyone but the couple.
