20 October 2014 Global Warming is real! Global warming has been a massive controversial theory that has been researched and calculated for years. An abundance of people do not know that their lives have been impacted by global warming. These researchers have been collecting data for years and years proving its existence. Many scientist and intellectual figures may say that in fact global warming is real; many other scientist and intellectual figures may agree with each other that it’s a joke and hoax, they have been arguing over this topic very seriously, although I believe that we should halt the questioning and should focus on how we can take action and help our environment.
Researchers believe that global warming is real concluding that hotter temperatures, ozone thinning and natural disasters are effects of this situation. People may notice that temperatures have been increasing over the years. The United States Environmental Protection Agency had stated “According to the U.S. Global Change Research Program, the temperature in the U.S. has increased by 2 degrees in the last 50 years and precipitation by 5%.” This was a fact from researchers that proved that the United States had been affected by global warming resulting in temperature increase. If this becomes a trend in the future years, global warming will effect people at greater temperatures and it may be unpleasant. The ozone has been another Haller 2 effect of global warming. Our ozone layer has been thinning, which kills the substance in the air that save us from the heat and dangerous toxins from the sun. The United States Energy Information Administration stated “The hole in the ozone layer in the earth’s upper atmosphere (stratosphere) reduces the greenhouse effect because ozone is a greenhouse gas.” This exposes us to more heat, with more heat; glaciers are melting and increase the body mass in water. The global warming debate is a very hot topic. Some believe that it is real, while others do not. Even on the side of the people who think it is a real thing there is debate. Some people think that it is a naturally occurring event while others think that it is manmade. Those who believe it is manmade think that too much carbon output is the cause. This is the stand that former vice president/presidential candidate Al Gore takes in his academy award winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth.…

Through the research I’ve done on global warming it appears to me that there is no problem with it at all, and that there is nothing to worry about. We need to accept that fact that global warming is actually helping the human race in many different ways. For examples the environment is warming up, the ocean levels are rising, and the increase of carbon dioxide are all benefits to the environment and economy. It’s almost as if global warming is turning the earth into a tropical paradise.…

What exactly is global warming? Do you know the answer, maybe you do, however, taking a pretty good educated guess I would tend to think that most people think they have a pretty good idea when in actuality they have no clue what so ever about global warming. The current frenzy over global warming has galvanized the public and cost taxpayers billions of dollars in federal expenditures for climate research. It has spawned Hollywood blockbusters and inspired major political movements. It has given a higher calling to celebrities and built a lucrative industry for eager scientists. In short, ending climate change has become a national crusade. And yet, despite this dominant and sprawling campaign, the facts behind global warming remain as confounding as ever. Let’ s start by talking about the definition; according to Sir David King and Gabrielle Walker’ s, 2008, book titled “The Hot Topic “ global warming is defined as a gradual increase in the earth’s surface temperature. A more popular usage definition would be global warming is caused by human activity, or let’s look at a more technical term anthropogenic. The debate would be is global warming observed naturally or is it man made? Some might actually take on a debate about the natural causes, like is the sun getting hotter; or maybe the debate would lean more towards human causes, carbon dioxide , here is a good example: the exhaust from cars and power plants that pollute our air. Which side of the debate would you take? One in respect to thinking that global warming is a serious problem, then again maybe global warming has only clouded the issue or in simple terms; how the climate system really works and why man’s role in global warming is more myth than science, and how the global warming hype has corrupted Washington and the scientific community.…

The seriousness of global warming is evident. “In the 20th century, the world’s average surface temperature rose by… the fastest rate in any period over the last 1,000 years.” (Source A) In the ocean, the surface temperature increased nearly 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit from about 100 years ago. (Source B) It is not only people who are affected by global warming. Nowadays, “each spring, the robins are arriving in Wisconsin several days earlier than they did a decade ago” (Source F) These significant changes to the world has alarmed people and evoked efforts to stop global warming.…

Global warming has not been taken serious by the government. The world does not really take it as a threat. Cars pollute the atmosphere more and more every day. The temperatures keep rising, yet, the government still doesn’t believe it is taking place. (Document C) Global warming is not a game, it is something serious. Therefore, the world should be very concerned about it.…

Global Warming is an increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect. Thus there is no indication that the warming between “1975-1998” and “1975 to 2009” is unnatural, unusual and/or caused by anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions. Global Warming may have started in 1975, but there is no observable evidence of anthropogenic carbon dioxide emission based global warming began in 1975. Most climate scientists agree the main cause of the current global warming trend is human expansion of the “greenhouse effect” warming that results when the atmosphere traps heat radiating from earth towards space.Yet the big question standing still is, is Global Warming real? Well here's what you need to know about the warming planet, how it's affecting us, and whats at stake. In recent years, global warming has been the subject of a great deal of political…

A former United States Senator, Joe Lieberman, had this to say about global warming: “Today, we can see with our own eyes what global warming is doing. In that context it becomes truly irresponsible, if not immoral, for us not to do something.” The President of the French Republic asserted that “The time is past when humankind thought it could selfishly draw on exhaustible resources. We know now the world is not a commodity.” It is clear that global warming may be man’s greatest challenge - however, it seems as though many are still denying its existence.…

There are many myths and facts about global warming, but the same question is always asked, “Is global warming real or not?” Many more questions arise from asking if global warming is real or not like, “is it the human’s fault or is it just the natural course of the Earth?” There is much evidence that scientist had gather to prove that global warming is real; for example everyone is aware the Antarctic glacier’s melting causing the oceans to rise and causing many problems not only to people but also animals too (Discovery Channel, Discovery Channel - Global Warming, What You Need To Know [Documentary]). The following are facts about global warming and how it is a real thing whether there are people wanting to believe this or not it is happening.…

My argument against global warming mainly emphasizes on the disproving of man-made global warming, not global warming as by direct definition as quoted above. I believe in the validity of the Green House effect, but am willing to denounce the allegations that human-kinds man-made greenhouse gases have or will ever influence climate change or overall atmospheric stability. We as a society rely on an assortment of technologies to engage us in every day luxuries that those of lesser fortune have not the ability. These luxuries influence the world in many ways but are incapable of changing the climate of our world with minute greenhouse gas emissions small in proportion to that of natures.…

Controversy over global warming exists as a dispute regarding the nature and consequences of global warming. The theory of global warning as presented in the mainstream media currently assumes that carbon dioxide is an atmospheric greenhouse gas and since humans are producing more carbon dioxide than previously, the temperature must therefore rise. The cause of global warming is not actually known, but in it 's simplest terms the debate boils down to whether or not global warming is caused by human interference or part of a naturally occurring cycle. The debate has recently become one-sided in favor of human interference due mostly to three factors: political pressure on scientists to produce research that supports the global warming theory, public misconception of what scientific consensus is, and an irresponsible that media promotes sensationalized viewpoints to sell advertising.…

For the past decade now there has been a long ongoing controversy, this controversy being this issue of global climate change. It has been a subject many people have been aware of yet few have actually talked about with the general public, as a result is has become one of the most undermined, yet widely discussed issues being held today amongst primarily scientists. Although scientist heavily debate on the subject, making suggestions on what needs to be done and pointing out the causes for climate change; we as a group need to take action in finding out what is happening to the Earth. It is only educating the general public is the only way we can come closer to reversing the damaged caused by global warming and climate…

As described above, greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere trap harmful infrared radiation from the Sun, heating up and changing the climate. This ‘trapped’ infrared radiation transforms into ultraviolet radiation which pokes holes in the atmospheric ozone layer and exposes the earth’s surface and all of its’ inhabitant species. Clearly, the greenhouse effect impacts humans significantly. If the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere were too low, then the earth would remain too cold to sustain life.…

I would have to disagree that global warming is simply a political issue. It originated in politics with Al Gore because he is a political figure, but it has always been more of a general human issue, as we are the cause of it, and we are the only ones who can take action against global warming. I don’t see politics as the ideal method of relaying the message of global warming to the public. In contrast, I believe that even something more political such as the war on terror is not as important as global warming, and therefore it doesn’t need the type of expose as global warming does. Terrorism seems much more urgent and threatening upfront, but if humanity were to be wiped out by the effects of global warming, there will be no one left to terrorize. In addition to that, there are many myths and misconceptions out there about global warming which are only harming the effort to educate the masses. In order for people to realize what they need to do and find out what they can do to contribute to the cause, we need to eliminate any misconception or confusion, and educate the citizens of the world on climate…

Some Americans may wonder why global warming has become so prevalent in the media in the past few years. Global warming is one of the most controversial issues to ever be discussed. The issue, which should be based completely on scientific evidence, is being used in the media as propaganda in order to falsely sway the public’s opinion about the issue. Positions on the issue taken by members of the Republican and Democratic Party are worlds apart. “Polls taken in 2010 found that nearly 70 percent of Democrats Believed that global warming was occurring. Only 30 percent of republicans agreed”(It’s not the science, stupid!). The arguments made by left- wing activists are completely untrue…
