Gm Food Is Healthy Summary
In “Genetically Modified Food is Healthy” Chien describes how the concerns over GMO’s/GE’s are irrelevant and how they are just as safe as other crops. To begin with, they stated that Dr. Oz and others mislead the public away from GMO’s/GE’s by branding them unhealthy. Due to these claims, individuals have pressured major companies to remove all GMO’s/GE’s products, even if safe. Secondly, they express that a GMO/GE claim is difficult to prove. With the numerous varieties of GMO/GE crops and since the tests only looks at the finished product, someone cannot legally prove they used non-GMO/GE ingredients. They mention that the use of genetically modifying food has happened since the beginning of agriculture and now there many types of common

Many people look at GMOs with a sort of view as if to ask: Why should I eat new GMO crops, when I could eat a crop that has been around for millennia? What they don’t understand, is that there is really no such thing as a crop that scientists just altered. People have been modifying plants since the creation of agriculture twelve thousand years ago. While it may have been done differently back then, the current method of genetically modifying plants is just a more deliberate way of doing what humankind has always done. The only difference now is that people have a scientific understanding of what they are doing and have improved agricultural techniques; advancements in agriculture have moved from the farm to the lab. The reason that I think so many people are opposed to GMOs, is because they don’t understand what they are, and because they think that scientists are doing something radical in making GMOs; they fear the unknown.”(Chrisopher…

Food shortage, world hunger, an starvation have been a big problem for the world. Scientist are trying to grab a hold of these problems before matters get any worse. Food shortage, world hunger, and starvation are three reasons as to why scientists have decided to modify foods. GM foods are a new genetically modified way to "improve" crop production, but these new improvements are not as helpful as scientists planned them to be. GM foods should play no role in the global food supply because GM foods have no beneficial role within humans lives.…

Status quo: One alternative to solving the main problem in this case is to adhere the status quo. This means continuing regulating the genetically modified foods through The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) agencies. The main issue with this approach is the history of inadequate standards presented by these agencies. All of the three organizations take a passive approach toward regulating the genetically modified foods, and therefore have received much criticism regarding their effectiveness. Although this alternative requires minimal change, there is little control of the situation involved with this approach.…

Brazil, Argentina, China, and India have increased GM crop planting, therefore it’s not only the United States that has been affected by the horrible GMOs but now they are slowly making their way around the world. (Gene Gennies) The world today is slowly becoming unhealthy, one country at a time. Five years ago China, India, and Brazil planted virtually no GMOs(Hindo), Gene Gennies stated that they have increased their GM crop planting. Therefore the impression given is that what is the GMO companies aren’t giving the same answers, so how does the public know what is true and what isn’t? The answer? Simple we really…

Most of us have heard the argument about GMOs for years now. Some people argue that they are the answer to world hunger, while opponents believe that they pose significant health risks. But should genetically engineered foods really be considered harmful? There hasn’t been much substantial evidence brought forward by scientists over the years, yet we continue to fall victim to the lies and conspiracy theories. I personally think that the case against GMOs is a mostly fraudulent one pushed by the organic foods industry; a highly lucrative…

Dr. Keith Kantor says, “there have been isolated cases of animals dying after eating genetically modified foods...I have found several patients that improved when all GMOs were eliminated from their diet.” This shows how genetically modified organisms are in fact not making people's health improve, but instead decline. One can conclude that there has not been enough testing around whether or not GMOs are safe. In my personal opinion, I think it is obvious that genetically modified organisms are not stable and ready to be given to the public in large batches until there has been long term…

“Say no to GMOs” adds, “The resulting GM foods have undergone little rigorous and no long term safety testing, but animal feeding tests have shown worrying health effects.” They have done test on animals however not on humans. If they do go into testing it is short terms and nobody's there to regulate how they do the test and they could easily alter the results. The only test that has been published on GMOs found that these food had contained gut bacteria but was never researched or looked into any further. So we have no real evidence that these foods are okay to eat. No one is there to look into the illnesses that these foods has caused. On the same token we have no clue who or how many people have been affected by GMOs.…

The genetically modified food debate continued at Davos in such panels as "21st Century Food Fights" and "Should We Be Frightened By Food?" - but it won 't end there, not by a long shot. The GM food debate is increasingly dividing public opinion - and countries. The potential of the new technology seems promising, but it 's hard to know at what, if any, risk.…

As there is a lot of engineering with food’s genetic code, there may be made some mistakes in the genes that could’ve messed up the genetically code found in cells. Which have happened as I have found out while searching the interweb. Shown by a wide array of studies there are a lot of incidents with GM food which include accelerated aging, immune dysfunction, organ damage, insulin disorders and reproductive disruption. For example, female rats fed a diet of GM soy experienced a drastically higher ofspring death rate, and their surviving infants were smaller and less fertile than the offspring of rats fed on a non-GM soy diet. Male rats fed the GM soy had their testicles change from pink to blue, and the GM soy was also observed to damage the DNA of sperm and embryos. Fertility problems such as abortion, infertility, premature delivery, prolapsed uteri, infant death, and even delivery of unformed infants (bags of water) have been observed in farm animals fed GM cottonseed and corn.…

Advancements in the understanding of genomics in the past century has allowed scientists to make use of their findings to improve lives of human beings. Yet, more and more drawbacks of such applications have been discovered, in addition to ethical issues that have been raised, many governments are urged to put a ban on the use of such technology. Genetically modified food is a good example of such case.…

With the rapid development of the agricultural biotechnology in recent decade, its safety for use in human and animal diet has become a generated worldwide debate, especially in GM(genetically modified) food safety.more and more people started to care about the impact the GM food to human healthy. Thus, some government have put forward policies to stipulate that GM food producers should voluntarily label their GM food. As I see, this policy should be carry out, there are three main reason:firstly, labeling the GM food give consumers more information so that consumers can make proper decision.Secondly, labeling the GM food give companies more revenues due to the raise of the sales volume.…

Proponents' of genetically modified foods strongest claim is that this technology will benefit farmers in developing countries by allowing those farmers to be more productive and grow a higher yield of crops. Many studies do agree that GE technologies do give farmers a higher yield, but even this is a contested issue. Because many of these studies are sponsored and linked to the very corporations that…

Genetically modified foods (GM foods or biotech foods) are foods made from genetically modified organisms (GMOs), specifically, genetically modified crops. GMOs have had specific changes introduced into their DNA by genetic engineering techniques. These techniques are much more precise than mutagenesis (mutation breeding) where an organism is exposed to radiation or chemicals to create a non-specific but stable change. Other techniques by which humans modify food organisms include selective breeding and somaclonal variation.…

As the population in the world seems to be a huge serious problems, the demand on foods will be taken a very important role on solving this problems. Fortunately, biotechnological scientists had developed a technique which can modify organisms genetically (GMO). Genetically Modified Organisms are the process normally transferring genes, which were so-called DNA, between two species. Those organisms will be modified their genetic structure by using biotechnology. This technique can be used on improving crops, animals and micro-organisms.…
