Introduction to GYG
GYG is a voluntary youth-led organization founded in April 17, 2012 by a group of young people to bring about enduring positive social change.
It is under the process of legal registration with CSO Authority as public-benefit organization.
Today, GYG has over 300 registered members (students, out-of-school youth, in-service people, and foreigners).
GyG has three Networks (Thimphu, Paro, Kanglung).
Vision:
“A pioneering independent voluntary youth-led organization that strives to brings about enduring positive social change.”
Mission:
“To inspire youth to take ownership of their community through youth-based volunteerism and channelling their potential into socially meaningful actions.”
Objectives
To bring youth together and engage them productively to address social issues
To promote active citizenship and volunteerism amongst youth
To provide opportunities that support and recognise voices of youth in the affairs of their community
To enhance leadership qualities, decision making and entrepreneurship skills among youth:
Go Youth Go signifies: The energy/passion/ potentials of youth.
In disposition of: Spreading compassion and providing supports.
Capable of: Delivering positive change to other youth and pro-social development of youth.
Expectation:
Lots to do (country, Kings and people expect so much from youth).
That we do: Coming together and providing collective efforts for a good.
Slogan: Bring Positive Change
All GyG objectives and activities aim to bring positive change in our society.
