God Loves a Cheerful Giver
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
This verse single-handedly sums up the reason Christians are to give. We are to give because…..God loves a cheerful giver. When Christians freely give, with a gracious heart, we please God.
God himself is a cheerful giver. He loves when His children follow in his footsteps. Think about the many blessings God has so richly bestowed on you. He doesn’t bless you because he has to, or because he feels obligated to. He gives to us, because He loves us.
In Romans 9:32 it says, He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things. God was willing to give his own son for our sake, and He didn’t stop there. This verse reminds us that God graciously gives us all things.
From each breath you take, to the house you live in. From your job, to your children, to your ability to read and write, God has graciously given you all that you have, and the ability to do all that you can do. There is nothing given to you, that does not flow from the hand of God.
Meditate on his many blessings. Think about the cross, and the suffering that was endured for your sake. Know this of God, he is a gracious God, and he calls us to be gracious as well. He calls us to be cheerful givers, and to freely give to others, as he has done so with

We all have had moments of tragedy and despair. It is in our darkest hour that many of us pray to God for comfort, I believe he answers our prayers when we are ready. We need to understand that asking God for material things will probably be ignored, that the greatest gifts we receive from God come from what we live and learn. For instance, my life was very difficult in many ways. I came from a home plagued by mental disease and addiction, it was a very lonely existence and I had often prayed for peace and to be loved unconditionally by another person. It did not seem like too much to want from life, however inside me grew resentment and anger. I was not ready to be loved or for a peaceful existence because I had not even loved myself. Over twenty years I lived my life angry at God for not giving me what seemed basic for most people and it consumed me to the point of near death. I saw what I had become, but now I had a child and I did not want her to feel the pain that I felt. If I did not change, it would just be repeating the vicious cycle. A very life altering decision was made and I began to heal from my past, but I still had a long journey ahead. I still felt lost and needed someone to understand. Finally I begged God to show me…

“Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.” Isaiah 45:22 (NKJV). I heard the question asked last night. “What rewards your life?” The answer was; to deeply appreciate those, who love you by loving them back. That’s what life is all about. You can ruin your life by desensitizing yourself. We are all afraid to say too much, feel too deeply, to let people know just how much they mean to us. But not God, in fact, we find in this verse how much He loves us. Many of us have a mental picture of what a Christian should be. Yet many of us don’t make ourselves vulnerable enough to fully narrow all our interests until our mind, heart, and body are completely focused and looking at…

“Under the impression that they scarcely furnish Christian cheer of mind or body to the multitude,” returned the gentle man, “a few of us are endeavoring to raise a fund to buy the poor some meat and drink, and means of warmth. Generosity is the virtue of not being tied down by concerns of one’s possessions and giving away those possessions without expecting anything in return. The stories, “Day 10, Story 3” and “Day 10, Story 4” from The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio are splendid examples of generosity that express the values and different aspects of generosity. Both Nathan from “Day 10, Story 3” and Gentile from “Day 10, Story 4” are generous, however Nathan’s the actions that Nathan takes make Nathan more generous. Nathan’s and Gentile’s generosity is illustrated through the intentions associated with their actions, the manner by which they express their generosity, and the results that they obtain because of their generosity.…

Our love for others is usually based on how they treat us, and what they do for us. Even though we could do nothing for God, He still loved us with no doubt. God has created in us feelings, and a heart. In the book Praxis, they say that giving your heart to Jesus is like jumping into the lap of a parent and looking to them for guidance. When you give God your heart, you are trusting Him with your life, emotions, feelings, and you are trusting Him to guide your life in the right direction. In my life, I try to love the people around me the best way I can because I know I would want the same from them. I try to take what I learn from God’s Word and what He says about love and how we should use it and use it in my life to the best of my ability. Knowing that God has endless love for me, and how He says we should love our neighbor’s as we love ourselves is a constant reminder for me to be kind to others, and give them love and help whenever they need…

Some may argue that the greatest love story to date is Romeo and Juliet: the love; the passion; the unlikely pair. Although Romeo and Juliet may be a great tale of two unlikely lovers, it could never compare to Our Christian Story. However, throughout these two renowned stories, elements of love and sacrifice can be demonstrated frequently. Out of love, we are able to make sacrifices for those whom which we hold dear to our hearts; when humanity betrayed God by consuming fruit from the forbidden tree, He displayed an unconditional love by sending His only son, Jesus Christ, to absolve us from sin. This represents a vital bond of love that has, over time, remained between God and humanity, but to experience this bliss we must freely embrace…

The Lord is a very generous and loving God. We, as followers and believers of Christ, should be thankful for everything He does. Many people in the world are not thankful for all the things the Lord does for them. They tend to complain about their life and worry about what they do not have rather than think about all the things they are privileged to have. People worry too much about who has the best phone, or car, or house, etc. and they do not focus on what is really important, which is their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is very easy to think of all the things we do not have and be unthankful. We can be jealous and covetous. But the hard thing to do is to remember to thank God for everything He has provided for us and for the wonderful life that He has given us.…

Jesus Christ is the perfect example of charity. In His mortal ministry, He always went about doing good, teaching the gospel and showing tender compassion for the poor, afflicted, and distressed. His crowning expression of charity was His infinite love and compassion for others. He said, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13). This was the greatest act of long-suffering, kindness, and selflessness that will ever be known. The Savior wants all people to receive His love and to share it with others. He declared to His disciples: "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another" (John 13:34-35). In relationships with family members and others, followers of Christ look to the Savior as their example and strive to love as He loves, with unfailing compassion, patience, and…
