The immovable object was body slammed and ultimately lost to the unstoppable force. I recognize that the illustration is faulty as theologically speaking God is not a force. From the get go see Jonah wanted jack squat with this. His attitude here is this. Man do I really have to. Do I need to do my job? Do I really need to write that paper? God called Jonah and showed him what he was to do. Here’s the thing. Your calling should not get this response. Think about this. Let’s say you are a manager of a company. You have to hire somebody. There are two people that showed up to the interview. Both of them look the exact same on paper. One of them says to you not to hire you because the company is to good. He repeatedly pleads with you to not hire him. If you hire him he will do the work grudgingly. His heart is not in the work. Now there is another person. He says I have nothing to offer to you but myself. I will do this better than anyone can. I am willing to do whatever it takes to further this company. You hire him he does just that.
