“Dark They Were and Golden Eyed” vs. The Great Depression
What is the real meaning of “Dark They Were and Golden Eyed” by Ray Bradbury and how does it relate to the Great Depression? The Great Depression was a worldwide economic crisis involving the crash of the Stock Market. “Dark They Were and Golden Eyed” is similar to the Great Depression because in both situations something crashes i.e. Earths atomic bombs and the Stock Market crash.
The Great Depression was a ten year lasting period of economic instability. “The start of the Depression is usually pegged to the stock market crash of “Black Tuesday,” Oct. 29, 1929, when the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell almost 23
