My first body paragraph is about what the goliath beetle eats. Goliath beetles eat different types of plant material, fruit, dung and remaining of dead animals. Goliath beetle are important part of the food chain in ecosystem because they eliminate decaying matter of plant and animal origin. The adult beetles eat foods rich in sugar, especially tree sap , but will also accept ripe fruit. This beetle
can pick its food up directly off the floor.
The second body paragraph is its predators. Its predators are other insects, larvae eaters, and also humans are predators of the goliath beetle. Other insect predators may include a goliath beetles own kind. Swifts and other birds, such insectivorous mammals as bats, reptiles, frogs, and other insects may act as beetle predators. Some beetle predators feed particularly on beetle larvae, although many beetle larvae that feed on plants and in the ground probably are distasteful to birds and other predators.
The third body paragraph will be on how it avoids its predators. Their front jaws, called mandibles, vary in size and shape, depending on the species. Predatory beetles have extended mandibles that can seize, cut, or crush prey. Most beetles hide, and many beetle larvae dig tunnels to hide in. Some rely on their hard shell. Some, like lady beetles, have toxic chemicals to repel predators. Some can bite. Some, like ground beetles, run fast.
To conclude ,Beetles have lots of roles. Dung beetles help get rid of waste. Beetles that eat wood help break down dead trees. Some beetles feed on pollen and help pollinate flowers. This is some facts about the goliath beetle.
