Good Man Is Hard To Find
¨The Truth Deep Inside the Southern Gothics¨ Southern gothic shapes Amer.Lit in a way to where it tells about how deep down inside people's´ personalities truly are in the south. The themes are race, unrequited love, good vs. evil, being an outsider, and violence. We have read the stories ¨A Good Man is Hard to Find¨, ¨The Possibility of Evil¨, and ¨A rose for Emily¨. The traits are shown through the stories by showing how they really think of the people around them and what they show to them.
In the story ¨A Good Man is Hard” it's about a family who is on a trip but runs into a misfit. The traits in this story were an outsider, social structure, and disturbed personality. The misfit is an outsider because he is different from society. He has escaped from prison and doesn't fit in with the society. He shows his true personality and the way that he really behave in public. The misfit also has a disturbed personality, he just goes out and kills a family that was strangers to him. He didn't have a reason to he just showed no remorse while killing them. The social structure shows when the father can tell the grandmother what to do. She doesn't have any say so in the decisions that are made in the household. He is over the household and makes all the decisions. …show more content…
