Good or Bad
Many aspects dictate whether a person is considered “good or bad”. All of these statements though, are opinions. One example is going to school. A “bad kid” doesn’t go to school or he ditches class. In his eyes he most likely considers he’s cool and that people like him for really just being a punk. Being good could range from helping people in need to going to work and paying taxes. On the other hand, being bad could mean lying and cheating or being disrespectful and rude. The average person does something bad almost every day. This doesn’t necessarily mean someone is a bad person, depending on the severity of the bad deed, but it may lower the way some people see them. To be considered good a person need to outweigh these bad deeds with good ones. The judgement of whether someone is good or bad depends on whether the person making the judgement is good or bad themselves. For example, a thief may consider a fellow thief to be a good guy making an honest living. Whereas the average citizen considers a thief to be a bad guy. Students are supposed to do their work in school, but, does not doing their work make them bad? This may not make them look particularly good but also not bad. This can’t change too much the way they look in normal life. With all of this being said, looking good or bad just shows what people consider someone to be, not necessarily who that person really is. A person can act or do whatever they want to do, but just remember who it is that considers that person good or bad.

Morality is a necessary character in interactions or organizations. Generally, the words “right” and “wrong” are antonym and the meanings are used to define the positive and negative even though we are taught not to judge what other people do. However, the ideas of black and white or right and wrong in morality are difficult to determine because we usually use our own measurement to judge others based on our beliefs, experiences and knowledge. In reality, there are not only black and white but the grey area also is existed where good people can do bad things and where bad people can do good things. According to Philip Zimbardo, psychologist and a professor at Stanford University, the line between bad and good isn’t fixed but it is movable and…

Throughout the course of ones’ life, one encounters various forms of good and evil consistently. Often, examples of good and evil are not clearly defined, and this leads to difficulty in defining the distinction between the two. To be able to find the difference between the two terms, one must understand what each label really means. According to Google’s dictionary, good is defined as having virtue, righteousness, high morality, and integrity. On the contrary, evil is defined as pertaining to immorality, malevolence, and dishonorable actions. Although there are widely accepted definitions of good and evil, the final decision is up to the person facing the situation. In East of Eden, John Steinbeck…

With proof from the book Lord of the Flies by William Golding I can say a person’s environment factors into their overall attitude, people naturally have evil thoughts, but will rules around them they are good. At the beginning of the book on page 38 Ralph says “Shut up! What! Listen!”. From the start of the look Ralph has felt power and the slight change of letting go of rules and becoming his natural evil controlling self. Ralph wants to keep order and the only way to keep order is with rules. Rules are what separate a person from doing whatever they want and being a bad person with doing good. From a more easily transitioned to showing evil we see on page 40 “His voice rose to a shriek of terror as jack snatched his glasses off his face.” Jack has no rules therefore he does whatever he wants and acts evil. If he was naturally good he would have felt some slight guilt for taking glasses from someone who can’t see without them. Essentially humans show their true nature given the opportunity that was given in Lord of The flies.…

By judging someone only by their appearance you are not giving them the chance to show what they have to offer. When you judge someone off of their looks you could be missing out on the kindest and hardworking person you have ever met. Some people can’t afford to dress in nicer clothes and just have to work with what they have. Other people prefer to dress in what makes the either feel nice about themselves or comfortable. The way a person dress should not be a major factor when it comes to judging them because they are many aspects as to why they are dressed a certain way.…

Firstly, good people do bad things because of something called diffusion of responsibility. This means not taking the blame for something because it was someone else’s command and not your own idea. An example of this is when Lyndiee said to the interviewer: ‘obviously it’s okay- my superior says it’s okay’.…

I’m inclined to believe that most of us still think some people are good and some people are bad, and never the twain shall meet. Despite the lessons we learned from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, we still think that good and evil belong in different people. Walter clearly shows that it doesn’t. And he demonstrates this with so many good psychological reasons—reasons that experimental psychologists observe in ‘normal’ people on a daily basis.…

The perception of good is varied through what way someone is looking at it. Whether it be someones behavior, the feeling, or to do good it all represents something positive. As a child, being told to be good was a reflection on my behavior. Good behavior in my family as a child was always important. When visiting a family or a friends house, good behavior from me was always expected by my mother. Good behavior was to be mannerly, and to not disturb dinner. Bad behavior was immensely frowned upon in my family and brought multiple consequences. Very often when I was younger being told I was a good listener was a reflection not only on my behavior, but a reflection on the positive way I followed directions. To feel good is a very positive feeling. Good is a feeling that is achieved through various things like: reaching a personal goal, making others happy, or receiving positive news. Also, to feel good may be brought on from doing good. To do good is to be selfless in a way that you do acts of kindness in order to help others. To reach the warm and positive feeling of selflessness, many will…

The novel displays acts of both great good and great evil, preformed by the Nazi Germans, and the main character; Jewish Felix. Great good is demonstrated in Felix’s actions, but their greatness swallowed by the outside worlds evil.…
