As an undergrad, I will join organizations and activities while participating actively in them. For academic and language enrichment, I aspire to travel to a Latin American country to study abroad. Also, I aim to be successful in my studies while balancing them with a part-time job. As a result of my hardwork and progression, I desire to obtain an internship as I network with area professionals. Besides focusing on my education, I look forward to finding my purpose. That being said, I am a firm believer that everyone is on this Earth to serve a purpose. As I nurture my skillset and zero in on my interests I look forward to discovering what position within business I am here to serve in. For some it takes till they’re forty years old to find their bliss and for others it comes naturally. For me, I think I was placed in the middle. I wasn’t exactly sure where I was going, but I knew I wanted to get somewhere. Not so exactly as “confused” and “lost”. More of just standing in front of a two-way street and not sure which way to turn and which would be the best direction for me. Taking Life Career Planning as a course was one giant leap that helped me discover myself and what I want to pursue. Throughout this semester I discovered myself in a deep personal level I didn’t even know existed in me. My meaning in life, my self-esteem, and what I value most in life. In the end I think I’ve accomplished a lot through this course.…

Organizing all I wish to do and accomplish in a way that reflects my values, however, is a promising place to start. Writing down my scattered thoughts and organizing my projects, something I learned from Making It all Work by David Allen, is also beneficial, as it allows me to be fully present during my next task. That is because every distraction has its place on a list. Likewise, by completing my Personal Scope and Personal Schedule, I was able to add some reality to my hopes for the year. By doing these exercises, I was able to better understand the amount of time at hand, the priority I should give to certain situations, and how to make my weekly life reflect the values I hold. It shook me slightly how much time my commitment to work, for example, took away from studying and socializing with friends. By putting my job under “assumption” on the Personal Scope I was better able to picture the time I have. This also allowed me to find a balance between the obligations that need to be met, my extracurriculars and my activities of interest, as well as specific time reserved for myself. This balance will be essential if I hope to complete this year at optimal mental and physical…
