Good Will Hunting is about a young man named Will Hunting. He is a complex character with an upsetting past. The movie first starts off with Will working as a janitor, and even though he has a simple job, he is a really smart man. He could solve any math problem thrown at him, and he also specialized in other subjects. One day, a Nobel Prize winner Professor Gerry Lambeau puts out a math problem and sees that Will has solved it. Before Gerry can speak to him, he runs out of the building. Will then gets jail time for beating up a bunch of random guys with his friends. Once Gerry finds out about it, he makes a deal with Will’s parole officer promising that Will would get counseling in return for getting him out of jail. After having multiple doctors, Will finally gets matched up with the right one, named Sean MaGuire. Will is very skeptical at first, but that’s only because he has major trust issues due to his childhood past. Even though Sean has many of his own problems to face, including the fact that his wife had recently died, he agrees to work with Will, and while the relationship is extremely difficult and emotionally explosive, Sean sticks with it because he is convinced he can help Will find some stability and happiness. Soon after many more appointments, they grow a strong relationship with each other. Each day of counseling Will opens up more and more, and he never does that with anyone. We soon learn about Will’s past of being abused and how he was in many foster homes. Over the next few months, Will becomes romantically involved with Skyler, a student at Harvard University who has decided to go Medical School at Stanford University in California. Skyler falls in love with Will, and wants him to go with her to California, but Will is too scared to become so emotionally close to another person, and scared to leave Boston. This is because he never grows attached to anyone because he feels
