Good Will Hunting By Gus Van Sant

Good Will Hunting is an American drama type film that was released in 1997 directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Robin Williams (as the therapist), Matt Damon (Will Hunting), Ben Affleck (the best friend Chuckie), Minnie Driver (the love of his life), and Stellan Skarsgård (the professor). The film was actually written by Affleck and Damon, and with Damon in the title role and Affleck as a best friend to the lead. The film follows 20-year-old South Boston laborer Will Hunting (Damon), an unrecognized genius who, as part of a deferred prosecution agreement after assaulting a police officer, becomes a patient of a therapist (Williams) and studies advanced mathematics with a renowned professor (Skarsgård). During his forced therapy meeting, Hunting rethinks his relationships friends, mostly his lifelong best friend Chuckie (Affleck), his new found girlfriend (Driver), and Will Hunting himself, forcing the facing of the task of thinking about his future and letting go of his past.
His hometown of Southie was known for being a rough district in Boston. Hunting works at night in the mainetence department as a janitor at the very well known Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Hunting entertains himself by spending his free time drinking and hanging out with his friends Chuckie, Billy (Cole Hauser), and Morgan (Casey Affleck). Being an abused foster child, he blames himself for his horrific upbringing and turns this self-loathing into a form of self-sabotage in both his professional and emotional lives. He is unable to maintain either a steady job or healthy or romantic
