Abstract
No one really knows if Google can make someone stupid. Some can argue the fact that, Google has changed the way we use to do things. Google has made life easier for those, who simply don’t want to waste time on research. Instead of doing things the old fashion way, we can now find everything we need at the push of a button or two. You will find a claim, reasons, and evidence to show how Google has changed our way of thinking.

The Toulmin Method to Google Making Us Stupid Claim: “Google’s view is that, information is a kind of commodity, a utilitarian resource that can be mined and processed with industrial efficiency. The more pieces of information we can “access” and the faster we can extract their gist, the more productive we become as thinkers.”
R). We as thinkers can sometimes become so overwhelmed in our everyday lives; we prefer not to waste time, by using resources that can prevent us from wasting time.
R). A person’s mind can make one think he/she is incorrect, by second guessing what you already know to be true.
E). Dave Bowman believed that something was going on in his mind, and he doesn’t think the way he used to.
E). It was Bowman who understood how decades of research, could actually be done in a matter of minutes. R).The article states how the NET has become a universal medium, for information that flows into our minds. R). There is speculation on how one’s thinking has changed, based on the convenience of available resources. E). The NET has allowed the mind to obtain information much faster, and save time by using available resources. i.e.” Once I was a scuba diver in the sea of words. Now I zip along the surface like a guy on a Jet Ski.”
E). “What if I do all my reading on the web not so much because the way I read has changed, i.e. I’m just seeking convenience, but because the way I THINK has changed?” R). Then there is the assumption that our brains needs replacing by artificial intelligence. E). The idea of our minds operating as high-speed machines, based on the workings of the speed of the internet. E). Also; how the brain is an outdated computer, that needs replacing to keep up with current resources. Google is in fact a computer generated resource, which allows us to use at our own discretion. There is no right or wrong way to use Google, but just be aware the mind is a terrible thing to waste. It is the user who allows the resources of Google, to either help/hurt one’s normal way of thinking. Some may argue the fact of Google making us stupid. But in reality Google is indeed making us lazy, and changing the way we used to do things.
