This report evaluates various key areas of competition including mobile platforms, gaming, e-commerce, mobile payments and more. Mobile communications has evolved to become a complex ecosystem with many players. The wireless carriers, while dominant in core services, are not the only major players when it comes to applications, content, and commerce. Google and their major competitors, Yahoo, Microsoft, Apple, and Facebook, battle fiercely with one another in the wireless arena. They are also collectively a force to be reckoned with for the mobile network operators.
