Topic: The Benefits of “GoSun” Stove
I) Introduction
A) Hello, I’m Trisha and today I would like to show and tell you something innovative.
B) Before I launch into my speech, allow me to regale you with a simple tale. Anna planned to have a barbeque party for her 21st birthday, so, she had everything prepared for her special day; from the party decorations to the food. However, on that particular day, the weather was terrible; a freezing temperature and strong wind with an overcast sky. Therefore, she had no choice but to cancel her plans and decided to relocate her party to McDonald’s instead. Then she lamented to herself, “if only I had a better alternative!” Now, we wouldn’t want to end up like poor Anna

E) Therefore, for today, ladies and gentlemen, I will show and tell you three incredible things about the “GoSun” stove: its specifications, the convenience of using it, and its environmental-friendly aspects.
II) Body
A) First of all, the “GoSun” stove is designed with interesting and unique features.
1) The stove is primarily made with a technology known as the evacuated tube; so called because the space between its double walls has been evacuated of air.
i. On top of it, the inner layer of the tube is coated with aluminium nitrile; a highly absorbent metallic paint which helps in absorbing heat energy. ii. Furthermore, since the interior of the tube is hollow, this allows a stainless-steel tray of food to be slid inside for cooking.
2) The “GoSun” stove has a very sleek, shiny, and has a ‘space-age’ outlook.
i. This device is cylindrical in shape, has a shiny outer surface to reflect sunlight, and it is two feet long with three inches in diameter, all of which allow it to handle more than three pounds of food or

1) This innovative invention is portable as it is in a pre-assembled package that weighs about 1.8 kilogrammes.
i) Thus, making it easy to be carried around and set-up at any location we choose.
2) Unlike a normal grill, this stove can be used to boil, bake, fry and of course, grill whatever types of food we want.
i) Hence, we are no longer shackled by just one method of cooking since everyone can have the freedom to diversify their cooking styles.
C) Last but not least, the stove is an environmental-friendly creation which is fuel-free and clean.
1) “GoSun” uses heat energy generated from the sun which is a form of renewable resource.
i) In fact, this stove can be used even at night since it has a special feature called thermal battery which allows it to store heat.
2) By using the “GoSun” stove, we need not worry about disposing of charcoal embers or worse, being a contributor of environmental pollution by generating harmful smoke while grilling.
III) Conclusion
A) In a nutshell, I believe that the “GoSun” stove is indeed an exceptional invention.
1) We have seen that the stove has been designed with interesting and unique

The aim of this experiment was to find out which alcohol burner was the most efficient when heating up water. The different alcohol burners were placed under cans full of 100cm3 of water one after the other. There was a thermometer placed in the can, which measured the temperature change during the experiment. It was noticeable that the most efficient alcohol burner was Octan-1-ol as its average was 16.4KJ whilst most other burners were less than 10KJ.…

In our second experiment, we found that Position A, or the base of the flame, was the hottest (of the positions), Position B was the second most hot, Position C was the third most hot, and Position D was the least hot. Position A started from the lowest temperature (296.4 K), and went up to the highest temperature (322.6 K). Position B started from 298.2 K and went up to 317.2 K. Position C started at 297.7 K and heated up to 315.2 K. Position D (Figure 8) started at 298.1 K and went up to 312.3 K.…

In colonial America, homes were warmed by a fireplace. The Franklin stove, invented in 1742, is a metal-lined fireplace that stands in the middle of a room. It has rear baffles for improved airflow. It provides more heat and less smoke than an open fireplace and uses less wood. This cast-iron furnace would radiate heat…

Guests at the retreat center always ate meals in common, but they had an option to take those meals outdoors. Fortunately, it was chilly enough outside that no one else opted to join them on the porch, where they would have complete privacy. We also need to understand the specifics of combustion, which is the chemical process of burning specific compounds and other items, and the specific heat capacity - the amount of thermal energy needed to increase the temperature of a given substance. Furthermore, determining the heat of combustion to compare to the values of other hydrocarbons - elements made entirely out of hydrogen and carbon - is very useful for the reasons listed above. As we know, the measurement of the quantity of heat exchanged of any type of thermal energy released is known as calorimetry - an entirely different science than we are used to. We are using each of these concepts throughout the lab experiment and are continuing to further our knowledge of each as…

Materials: To complete all steps and smoothly complete the lab we first needed an almond, which what will be burned to find the energy and calories. Next we needed a paper clip to straighten out and put the almond on as a safe and efficient way to burn the almond. A scale and small aluminum-weighing dish were needed as well to weigh out the almond and paperclip. The lab also required a graduated cylinder, test tube, distilled water, thermometer, a Bunsen burner, a sparker, a calorimeter and safety glasses. All those were used for measuring, holding, heating and measuring the temperature of the water as well as measuring the energy content and the safety glasses were for protection when burning the almond.…

This metal fireplace was designed as to reduce smoke output while increasing the heat output. It succeeded in this, and it did not require as much wood to fuel as a normal fireplace. This was an innovative breakthrough at the time, but despite the amount of money Franklin could have made by patenting the Stove, he decided instead to leave it unpatented, since it would become much more widely distributed that way, and in the future it could be improved…

Combustion Background For this science experiment, we will be looking at the differences in calorie count between a food label and and the amount we measure in a lab. For this lab, we will be experimentally measuring how many calories are in different types of food. Before we begin the lab however, we need to investigate the science behind it. Firstly, we need to figure out if this project is even possible.…
