He is taking advantage of the company and his coworkers. This is wrong in my book; he doing this is creating a domino affect within the company. Other coworkers notice and feel it isn’t fair or that it isn’t right and would want to slack off just like him. Hence taking advantage of the company, taking time without pay is not always something frowned upon, but when it’s done multiple times, and to where it gets excessive missing more than 4 days a month in my opinion at work it’s unacceptable. Augustine would handle this situation by identifying the cause and distinguishing the cause and solving it. Aquinas would probably let it slide because she feels that everything you do that
Comes naturally is ok. This is very two very different ways of handling this situation. But something would have to be done.
Rhonda enjoys socializing with fellow employees at work, but their discussion usually consists of gossiping about other people, including several of her friends. At first Rhonda feels uncomfortable talking in this way about people she is close to, but then she decided it does no real harm and she feels no remorse for joining in.
Rhonda is wrong. Even if her friends or other coworkers cannot hear what she is saying, you never know if that person she’s gossiping too is going to tell. Also shows a lot about your character to be gossiping in your workplace. Talking bad about people only gets you that same respect back, people will then start talking bad about you. Bad reputation for Rhonda and eventually she will be singled out. Augustine would handle this by maybe getting rid of her to avoid all the issues with gossip. Augustine would probably have a counseling session with her to make her become a better communicator.

In the article, Are You Driving Your Boss Crazy?, the author insinuates the worst mistake that can be made by an employee is gossiping. Nothing good ever comes from such behavior. Gossiping is almost always circulated around an office, hence the the word gossip, otherwise known as the rumor. The old adage, “what comes around goes around” most seemingly fits the word gossip. The rumor always gets back to the person it’s about, which leads to hurt feelings, anger, and possible revenge. Gossip becomes cyclic and hard to stop. Therefore, “you don’t want to be the one caught at the water cooler who spreads gossip or complains” (cite).…

60). Rarely in the past did gossip reach what Canadian author Malcolm Gladwell dubs a “tipping point”. Concerning social media, this when the gossip travels via people he calls “connectors.” Gladwell describes these people as gregarious people that have multiple social networks. For an example, he gives a historical reference to Paul Revere. Revere, who was well known already by scores of different people in various social circles. He was able to push his “gossip” that the British were coming to the tipping point when diverse groups hearing the news spread it even further. Gladwell compares this phenomenon to the way an epidemic disease spreads (p. 60-61). While this is a case where the content of the gossip was good, there are other useful purposes for gossip. Gossip is the cornerstone for building reputations. As psychologist Nicholas Elmer points out, the only way reputation can exist - when people have conversations about one another. Philosopher Martin Heidegger draws the analogy of gossip to greasy fast food, delicious and incredibly satisfying but offers little nutritional value (p. 64). We may draw out that analogy out a bit further and say gossip in small doses occasionally does little harm, but eat it every day the results can be devastating. Particularly damaging is when gossip leads to public…

Bullying is a common form of exploiting a weakness that you feel a need to respond to in a generally aggressive manner by taunting, hitting or embarrassing them, gossiping is another form where you spread rumors and secrets that you've heard about and again, often exploits weaknesses in people; as if you gossiped to make fun of someone or put them down. The reason why these weaknesses appear is because people today, feel the need to be open, they are pressured to be social and with that comes a lot of talk about each other. Perhaps another reason is that teenagers today don't "hang out," as much as previous generations did, but instead use instant messaging and text messages more, and frequently they convey what the other person's feelings are through their words and comments. Being behind a screen takes away insecurities and allows people to feel that they are safe and sound, except when you gossip or tell a secret of yours. As the gossiping trend continues, we see that the secrets could spill out and backfire.…
