PROJECT CHARTER
DEVELOP PROJECT CHARTER - INPUTS
Statement of Work. The scope of the project includes installation of GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) at Islamabad. The same includes laying of fiber optic cable, installation of necessary PON components and provision of triple play services (Data, Voice & Video) and add-on services such as Video on-demand, Online Gaming, HDTV etc to 0.2M subscribers of Islamabad city. The project is to be undertaken as per the contract No HHHH dated 12 Sep 12.
Business Case. Erricson, after acquisition of Entrisphere, is a major manufacturer of GPON components which includes BLM 1500, BLM T100 ONT, BLM T151 ONT, BLM T300, BLM T500, EntriView EMS, Outside Plant (OSP) Cabinets. The project will enable maximum utilization of self-manufactured hardware and will result in generation of maximum revenues for the firm.
Contract. The contract of the project has been signed between PTCL and M/s Erricson No HHHH dated 12 Sep 12.
Enterprise Environmental Factors.
a. Installation of GPON at Islamabad should conform to ITU-T standards by way of G.984.x
G.984.1 describes the service provider requirements for the system.
G.984.2 specifies the physical layer for all the data rate combinations in G-PON.
G.984.3 defines the transmission convergence layer
G.984.4 defines the OMCI on the system
b. CDA standards for earth excavation and optical Fiber Laying.
Organisational Process Assets.
a. As per the company policy maximum utilization of self manufactured equipment /hardware will be used
b. As per previous experience Laying of Optical Fiber Feeder Cables, distribution Cables and installation and housing of out door components, errection of poles and Drop Cables should be outsourced to M/s YYY.
c. Optical Fiber Feeder Cable, Distribution Cables and Drop Cables manufactured by M/s ZZZ
