One of the easiest concepts for me was composite functions. They seem a little overwhelming at first, but once you break them down and see how they correspond together. I really enjoyed doing them. I like to see how things work together and how the answer is found.…

Saint Barbara is someone who I continuously look up to whom practiced the Christian faith. She has always been considered my family’s favorite saint. Her story inspires me to be a better person and to be true to what I believe in despite what others say. I am amazed at the amount of courage, will, and bravery she had, and I really hope I have courage like that someday. Her story gives me a vivid reminder that their can be anger in our lives but we can control this by being in touch with God’s presence and continue to look up and pray to him no matter what. Also, due to my cultural background, my family firmly believes she was a great saint and therefore we have great devotion and celebrate her feast day, December 4th, annually which we don’t do to any other saints, making me further familiar with her life and background. We…
like her second mother, telling her to continue doing the right things and alway praying to God.…
It has become a law because the people in Bergeron's community made the handicapping law and wanted everyone to be equal.…
She taught me that even though when sometimes everything is going wrong, that you need to keep your head up and keep moving forward. She lost her parents, but stayed strong. She was caught two times by the Nazis, and escaped with her family’s help. She was caught a last time, and this time, she was bound to die. While in the tunnel, she could hear the screams of the Jews getting tortured, but managed to persevere and make it out alive. I believe that is important to not give up, as well as keep moving forward even when times get rough. Nothing lasts forever, and that applies to harsh feelings as well. Everyone should remember that if you put bad things in the past, it’ll be forgotten…
What I learned at the meeting, well really what I learned from the people who shared their journey, was more than I could ever put into words, it had such a great on me, and I am sure it will always be with me. I feel like I have somewhat learned some of the difficulties that these people have experienced in their life, I don’t mean to say I knew nothing of it before, but it is different hearing from people other than your brother. From what I heard in the meeting I really feel that I understand my brother and what he went through more clearly now.…
I watched my cousin Robb jump into the pool and race through the water. I was thrilled to be in Baltimore experiencing Robb, who was born with Autism and Down Syndrome, swim at the Maryland State Special Olympics. My cousin Astri and I were Robb’s biggest cheerleaders, cheering him on as he swam. I was hoping I would witness his victory. There was one woman who I had my eye on because we had met her in the locker room before the race. Something I will never forget was holding the door for her. She had the same enthusiasm and appreciation for life as Robb. It was impossible to predict that the chain of events following would occur. After the race had begun, she collapsed and died in the water. As I watched the medics pull her out of the pool,…
Immigrants from all over the world make the journey to America for many different reasons but with one goal in common, a better life, and they have been doing so for centuries. What makes America what it is today is it’s diversity, a “melting pot” of cultures and traditions coming together as one. But this is not how the White Anglo Saxon Protestants from the 19th century (WASPs) viewed it. WASPs did everything in their power to keep immigrant groups like the “dirty Chinese” and “violent Irish Catholics” out, giving them negative stereotypes and creating laws to mark them as an inferior race. In the political cartoons “The Irish Declaration of Independence That We Are All familiar With” and “The Only One Barred Out” it is clear that the artists are portraying how…
I could always tell she was a Christian by the way she acted and she could always laugh at herself, but what a treacherous thing to believe that a person is more then a person. As Seniors, Katie(her best friend), Jace (my brother and Katie's husband), Alaska and I went on a mission trip to South Africa to help out at orphanages. She always wanted to be legally named Alaska and so in 2020 she legally changed it to Alaska. Then, we graduated together as class of 2021. Katie, Jase, Alaska and I went back packing across Europe together, before we all went to college. That trip was included some of the best moments that I had with her. When we went to the France and we saw the Eiffel Tower, I will never forget how her face lit up with excitement and awe. And going to England and seeing Big Ben was amazing with her. When we went to Norway and visited the Viking ship museum, it was amazing how interested she was in the history and culture of the Vikings. That was a great trip. Then we went to college at Auburn, and since we took enough AP classes we only had to complete the last two years of college for our bachelor degree. She got…
By the end of this interview, I learned more about my pastor than most people would have known. His story is not like most people’s; and he has definitely had a rollercoaster ride throughout his life. From going through a conversion experience, to raising a child’s life, and doing many extraordinary things, Fr. H truly is an inspirational figure in the…

Amilia Ann Freeland was born on January 14, and ever since that day, my life has been changed. After she was born, I knew she would be my best friend. I’m always there to protect her, and she’s always here to cuddle me when I’m sad. Having her in my life has truly changed me for the better. When I’m going through something rough, I tell myself to get through it for her. I want her to have someone in her life to look up to. I never knew that one tiny little girl could change my life so…
I met her six summers ago on a visit to Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity Orphanage in Ville Parle, Mumbai. An Indian nun wearing the simple blue-edged, white sari of Mother Teresa led me into a room with more cribs - and toddlers - in one place than I had ever seen in my life. I wandered through the babbling mass of children and saw sights that remain in my memory to this day. I saw a 3 year old child reach out mesmerized, toward the shiny strap of my dad's wristwatch. I saw a little kid on the ground strapped into a child's car-seat, rocking itself to sleep. I saw two siblings sleeping peacefully, the older one's arm wrapped protectively around the other. And I saw a girl. She was standing up in her crib with one hand placed cautiously on the rail for support and the other fingering the pink heart embroidered on her bright orange corduroy skirt. As I drew closer, she reached out to me, her small hand groping in the air between us. I stretched out to her and she wrapped her tiny, little hand around my pointer finger and watched me. Her deep, inquisitive chocolate brown eyes searched mine. I gave her a small, tentative smile and she responded with the most breathtakingly beautiful smile I have ever had the good fortune to witness. But it wasn't beautiful because she had flawless teeth or the perfect shade of lipstick. What made it beautiful was the sincerity with which it was created. Her smile made me want to stay with her forever. It made me want to abandon my common sense and absorb her innocent view of the world, a view…
