Graduation Speech
Hi my name is Ly’chae Corley and I would like to give a thanks to all of the parents ,and every person that is here today, and I would like to take this time to bring attention to my parents-I Wll always love you guys , my family-the ones who helped me throug h rough times , my peers-the ones who never let me down
, my teachers-who pushed me when I needed it , the staff -for helping me find my way around the school when I couldn’t and my grandma’s-for helping me with things only grandmas can help with.

In 2013 Oprah Winfrey said this quote at Harvard
"It doesn't matter how far you might rise. At some point you are bound to stumble. ... If you're constantly pushing yourself higher ... the law of averages, not to mention the Myth of Icarus, predicts that you will at some point fall. And when you do I want you to know this, remember this: There is no such thing as failure.

Failure is just life trying to move us in another direction."Yeah I believe that when you're in a good position something you did previously could jeopardize that position or put you in a position where you will have less success then before.

I think president Obama said it best when he said,
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”. We’re the ones who can make something of our future. You can’t depend on anyone but yourself. Depending on someone can cost you your chance to make something out of yourself. This one time I depended on someone to hold a paper that I left in my last period class, they were staying after school for help on homework, they said they would get it for me and ended up not bringing it

because they forgot it in the class they were studying in. So I learned to keep track of my stuff and not leave my papers that are due the next day in a class. So take the risk and make something out of your chance to be something greater.

Imagine… you are getting all dressed up for that big day. You get anxious and scared because it’s the graduation for eighth grade. You get all dressed up and put on your gown and cap. Then you arrive at the school. You sit in the assigned seat and watch the children before you get up and shake hands. You feel your hands get clammy as you wait. You wait till you hear your name and realize that it’s your time to shine. You stand up and hear the creaking of the harwood on your shoes. Then you feel your hands and wipe them down, but when you get up there you shine like a supernova. Everyone's eyes are on you. You realize that it’s your time to show who you are and time to reflect on your legacy here. A legacy is what you leave behind for people…

Whether you arrived as a nervous kindergartener or a confident middle schooler, the opportunities we have been given, and the lessons we have learned have shaped each and every one of us into the people we are today, and more importantly, the people we will become in our futures.…

One thing people have always told me is that I remind them of the person Randall Cobb from the book game changers. He has one of the most creative and unique personalities. He is passionate for the game of basketball by working hard on his time. Randall is also talented in the subjects math and science by pushing himself to make good grades. He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. All in all he was almost exact the same person as I am he likes basketball, he helps others, and he does well in school.…
