Graduation Speech: A Humoral Speech At The Lincoln Memorial
Thank you very much. Thank you very much everybody, and thank you Tom. I’d like to congratulate our incredible entertainers tonight. Toby, and Lee Greenwood and all of the great talent. It was really very special. I also have to thank our incredible military right here. Thank you. Stand up, please. You guys were really great. Thank you. So this journey began 18 months ago. I had something to do with it, but you had much more to do with it than I did. I’m the messenger. I’m just the messenger. And we were tired. And I love you. Believe me, I love you. We all got tired of seeing what was happening. And we wanted change, but we wanted real change. And I look so forward to tomorrow. We’re going to see something that is going to be so amazing. So …show more content…
I don’t know if it’s ever been done before. But if it has, very seldom. And the people came by the thousands and thousands, and here we are tonight, all the way back. All the way back. So it’s a movement that began, it’s a movement that started, and it’s a movement like we’ve never seen anywhere in the world, they say. There’s never been a movement like this and it’s something very, very special. And we’re going to unify our country, and our phrase – you all know it, half of you are wearing the hat – “Make America Great Again.” But we’re going to make America great for all of our people, everybody. Everybody throughout our country. That includes the inner cities, that includes …show more content…
They’ve been so supportive, and it wasn’t easy for them. But they have been so supportive. I want to thank you, most importantly. And I promise you that I will work so hard. We’re going to get it turned around. We’re going to get our jobs back. We’re not going to let other countries take our jobs any longer. We’re going to build up our great military. We’re going to build it up. We’re going to strengthen our borders. We’re going to do things that haven’t been done for our country for many, many decades. It’s going to change. I promise you it’s going to

"The Commencement Speech You'll Never Hear" Reading Journal” In the essay written by Jacob Neusner, “The Commencement Speech You'll Never Hear" it talks about the way that schools do prepare students, which the writer mentioned it as something that is not useful. Furthermore, in the essay, the writer mentioned that Many schools and colleges nowadays do prepare students for the unreal world and does not make people ready for the real life. Moreover, he said that in the college if a person faced a problem or something that he/she could not deal with can easily drop it. However, in the real world if someone had to be in a difficulty he/she cannot run away from it by dropping it.…

David Foster Wallace was a novelist and essayist. He delivered a commencement speech to liberal arts graduates at the Kenyon College in May of 2005. In the speech Wallace implores listeners to hear his words from a non-biased perspective for what they are; his words are not a reprimand to the selfish, but an offer to those seeking knowledge to broaden their perspective. Wallace warns against closed mindedness by using examples of his own experiences along with clichés, and the repeated idea that “…a liberal arts education is not so much about filling you up with knowledge as it is teaching you how to think.”-(Wallace, 2005 Kenyon Commencement Speech). Wallace expands on that cliché, showing the audience that the need to be taught is not an insult to their intelligence, but a tool that can be used to broaden the mind and experience life to the fullest.…

On Tuesday January 20th 2009 in Washington D.C., our 44th president Barack Obama stood before a record breaking crowd of Americans to deliver his inauguration speech which marked the commencement of his four year term. Being the first African American president, the journey that Barack Obama embarked on was difficult but he worked hard to win over voters with his many speeches that promised “Change”; the slogan of his campaign. As president Obama presented his inaugural speech, Americans all over the country witnessed a highly anticipated and great moment in history. In hopes of reassuring his supporters and promising those people with doubts President Obama said, “Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real, they are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this America: They will be met.” With that said it has been almost two years since we elected this democratic candidate to run our country and within his time of being president we have already took notice to a great amount of progress. Though not all issues have been completely solved president…

The memorable quote "All gave some...Some gave all" really describes the emotion all of us as Americans should have towards our flag. Memorial Day is a tribute to those who died for our country. We use our flag to honor them by decorating their graves. If that doesn't show the honor that comes along with our flag, nothing…

Imagine… you are getting all dressed up for that big day. You get anxious and scared because it’s the graduation for eighth grade. You get all dressed up and put on your gown and cap. Then you arrive at the school. You sit in the assigned seat and watch the children before you get up and shake hands. You feel your hands get clammy as you wait. You wait till you hear your name and realize that it’s your time to shine. You stand up and hear the creaking of the harwood on your shoes. Then you feel your hands and wipe them down, but when you get up there you shine like a supernova. Everyone's eyes are on you. You realize that it’s your time to show who you are and time to reflect on your legacy here. A legacy is what you leave behind for people…

Let the word go forth from this time and place to friend and foe alike that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.…

Our guest speaker Brian had a lot to bring to the table on Wednesday. It was a great introduction to get my attention when he spoke that he was a George Fox University Alumni and that he went through the same situations that we went through. Brian also had the same professors that we did, and gave me the motivation to hear that everything we are going through is worth it in the outcome if we just stay committed in our business goals and future. The beginning Brian’s story was interesting when Brian said he was in accounting and that he wasn’t ever good at mathematics. Having Non-Verbal Learning Disability in school has always made math a struggle, but I’ve always had the gift of being a hard worker, and being good working with people. When Brian told, us you can be successful at Accounting even if you don’t have strong math skills was helpful and interesting to hear from someone who doesn’t have a background in business yet.…

Before The Great War, in 1912, I was a young artist, drifting through the streets. I had no drive to better myself or my life, all I thought about was making ends meet. It was a hard life, especially being so young. And soon enough I began to find no joy in art. After that it felt like I had no purpose, no meaning, I was lost. But one day, out of the blue I saw my future, my purpose. It was an enrollment poster for the German Army. My eyes lit up, as I realised this was my calling. To serve my country, to do my part. That was what I was born to do. As a soldier I was thought to be brave and cunning. But unfortunately that wasn't enough. By the end of the war, I had been shot two times, won multiple medals, but was still heartbroken. For our…
