‘Success’
Thirty five years ago, it was on a Friday late night around 11:52 a mother had been in labor pain. This mother was blessed to have a baby boy at that night, in the beautiful city of Colombo. Being the bread winner in the family, I crowned my parents with two new titles, a “mother” and a “Father”.
Over the years, I grew up with three siblings. Studied in public school. I was kicked out of school being the naughty child. By the way my teachers, they never listened to me when I said, “I was helping my mother at home.” I washed the clothes. Literally, I was standing looking at swirling of washing machine. I cleaned home. Although, I messed up the home when my mother does the cleaning and I said, I was doing some gardening at the back yard of the house. That was my adolescence age. On that night my father came and asked me “son what’s your next plan”, I want to say that I want to get marry, that’s my next plan, but if I ever say that, I would be a dead meat. I am not prepared for it. With that copied result, I told him I would pursue Chartered Accountancy.
He came closer to me, held his both hands on my shoulder, “son, life is not a dress rehearsal” CA is not an easy anymore. Inside in me, I know how I was a master in copying the exam. I failed CA first
