Graduation Speech: Joseph Bradley's Childhood
Joseph Bradley has always been an outstanding Quarterback! Ever since playing junior football, standing at 6’4 now with a rocket arm, he has been the talk of the state. He was only 8 when he lost his mom and dad in a fatal car accident. This is what made his determination! Joe is now 17 years of age and is going into his senior year in high school, he says “This is my last year of high school football, I want to make something out of it. I don't wanna be known only as a high school legend. I wanna go on and play at the next level and make a name for myself at the collegiate level, or even bigger at the professional level. I do this for my parents, I know they are watching down on me and I wish they were still here to see my accomplishments! God has a plan for me, and it’s up to me to run with that plan and make it worth it” Joe has been struggling in school lately. He has a 2.1 GPA and his test scores are low. He scored a 14 on his ACT which isn’t scholarship worthy for the NCAA Division 1 schools that are interested in him. He is really interested in playing football at the University of Alabama, which will come and see him play his home opener. Joe had made a promise to himself. His promise was to study hard, raise his GPA up by at least a .3, take the ACT as many times as he can, and hell, WIN FOOTBALL GAMES! …show more content…
Joe tears his ACL. This was devastating for him. He has been out for the rest of the season and his Sophomore year. He came back his Junior Year and ended up winning the Heisman Junior and Senior year. He entered the NFL Draft and had gotten Drafted 1st round 3rd pick to the Kansas City Chiefs! Joe’s life has been a rollercoaster and his dedicated his grind for his parents and aunt!     Once he was finished with high school he earned a scholarship from Southern Mississippi which was the only scholarship offered to him. During his freshman year he started the season as a seventh string quarterback. Favre looked to take over the starting position in the first half of the third game. Although suffering a hangover he led the team to a comeback win. In his third season with the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles Favre upset the 6th ranked Florida State Seminoles. Brett Favre threw the game winning pass with just 23 seconds left as he put up a six and a half minute drive. Just before Brett Favre’s senior year start he had one of the scariest things happen in his life. Brett Favre lost control of his car going around a turn near his house. His car flipped three times and finally stopped resting on a tree. One of Brett’s brothers busted the window out and was taken to a hospital on an ambulance. On the ride to the hospital Favre just kept asking his mom if he will ever be able to play football again. Favre had to get emergency surgery and the doctors removed thirty inches of his intestines. Favre then hosted a comeback win over the Alabama Rolling Tide. After the game Alabama Head coach Gene Stallings said “You can call it a miracle or a legend or whatever you want.
