This type of art is so beautiful and so illegal when put on certain places. Graffiti is a multiple side argument that has many different points of views. The mayor of Seattle is inviting the public to join in on the debate of wither graffiti is art or vandalism. Graffiti is such a broad topic, so I narrowed it down to graffiti murals. Graffiti murals are art, they take time and skill, bring color to dead and dark places, and artists can get paid to make them.

Muralists can get permission and money for drawing on walls and buildings. Since they have permission it's not a crime. In article #4 it states that graffiti artist Lady Pink, "I made my name as a graffiti artist, painting on the New York subways. But since then, I have been working on commission instead, making a living off of it." This shows that graffiti isn’t just some criminal act, it can be a real job that people do and love. Yes, the artists did start off drawing on subway cars but that's how they got noticed and made their mark. This shows that when controlled graffiti can lead to more murals being done with permission and that becoming more popular. So, graffiti isn't just some writings on walls. It is job opportunities and permission to draw which can lead to money. Overall, it's so much more than just drawings. It’s a young person's dreams becoming reality.
